Flipside's World Cup of Bounties Side Quest: LaLiga Golazos

    Introduction

LaLiga is a global, innovative, socially conscious entertainment leader. It is a private sports association composed of LaLiga Santander's 20 public limited sports companies (SADs) and clubs and LaLiga SmartBank's 22. It organizes professional football competitions in Spain. LaLiga has 164 million followers over 17 platforms in 20 languages.

Dapper Labs leverages blockchain to give fans NFTs and new digital engagements. Dapper Labs has given consumer enthusiasts a genuine stake in the game by bringing them closer to the brands they love, providing engaging and fascinating communities for them to participate to, and creating new avenues for them to become creators themselves. NFL, NFLPA, NBPA, WNBA, WNBPA, LaLiga, Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, Genies and UFC are Dapper Labs' studio partners.

On October 27, Dapper Labs' previously announced NFT platform based on the LaLiga Spanish soccer league.

LaLiga is Dapper Labs latest marketplace for digital moments of players; this past month, Dapper dropped the first LaLiga packs and opened up the secondary marketplace.

LaLiga Golazos will bring fans closer to the sport they love through digital video treasures called Moments. "Golazos" is a Spanish word for a fantastic goal, but its meaning has transcended borders and language. LaLiga Golazos includes the most famous plays from LaLiga Santander clubs since 2005-2006, as well as crucial plays from each matchday of the current season.

    Method

In the current dashboard, I will assessed the sales metrics of first week of LaLiga Golazos in relative to NBA TopShot, NFL All Day & Algorand’s FIFA Collect+ collections.

Flow.core.ez nft sales is the primary table that will be utilized for this bounty that filtered by aforementioned NFT Contracts. We need to determine the daily USD value of the $FLOW token, hence flow.core.fact prices table was used in order to extract the USD amount of NFLs sales that were conducted with FLOW token (Dapper Utility Token is a stablecoin = $1), as there are two different currencies that can be used to purchase NFLs (Flow Token and Dapper Utility Token).

Additionally, the algorand.nft.ez_nft_sales_fifa table was used to extract the FIFA Collect+ collections sales metrics in order to comparison.

In order to compare the early weeks' sales of each collection, I ranked the blocktimestamp by date and extracted from each one the first 7 and 30 days.

    Analysis

The chart above shows the sales transaction count over the first 30 days of each collection.

    • By looking at this chart, I tried to put together these days and examine sales metrics over the first 7 and 30 sales days.

    ✍🏻 Conclusion

In my opinion, comparing the first week of sales and even the first month of these collections is not fair because, as we can see, the first week of NBA Top Shot sales coincided with the early days of 2021, and as we recall, there was a bullrun and skyrocket on the cryptocurrency market at the time. Also, we can see that the first week of NFL AllDay sales coincided with the early months of 2022, and as we remember too, in those days the price of NFTs was on a bullrun and skyrocketed. In contrast, the cryptomarket is in a bear market in the early weeks of FIFA+ Collect, particularly LaLiga Golazos, with a large count of fuds, as well as FTX's demise in the last month.

    About:

LaLiga Golazos has entered the arena!

The aims of this dashboard is looking at LaLiga’s first few weeks of action, comparing against the first few weeks of other Flow darlings like NBA TopShot & NFL All Day, as well as Algorand’s FIFA Collect+. How does La Liga compare in terms of overall sales on pack drops? What about on the secondary marketplace? How many users participated in LaLiga in its first few weeks compared to other relevant marketplaces?

    :mag_right: Findings:

The charts above show the assessed metrics in total for the first sales week of each collection.

As it is observable, NBA Top Shot has had the most sales, sellers, and buyer counts, followed by NFL AllDay.

LaLiga Golazos has also had more than FIFA+ Collect.

Except for the first day, when NFL AllDay had the higher floor price ($80), FIFA+ Collect and LaLiga Golazos had the higher floor price than the other two. although this higher price could be because of market conditions and considering the time deference between of first week of each one.

    :mag_right: Findings:

The current part’s visuals represent the sales metrics over first sales weeks (4 weeks) of each collection.

LaLiga Golazos has passed less than 10 days.

As can be seen the NBA Top Shot has increased on all assessed metrics over its first sales month.

Overall, the results for this section are too similar to the previous section.

    :hourglass_flowing_sand: Cross-Projects’ Buyers & Buying Distribution

    :mag_right: Findings:

The addresses that have had buying transactions on the first week of all three Flow collections are represent in the charts right.

As cam be seen the 0xdd…2236 have had 15 buying transactions for LaLiga Golazos and 5 transactions on NFL AllDay as the top cross-project buyer address, that also has had the most buying volume on first sales week of collections.

Totally, only 7 addresses have had cross-project buying, and only one of them bought on NFL AllDay collection and three of them bought on TopShot.

The graphs right show the distribution on bought NFTs based on buyer count and bought volume on first sales week of each collection.

As can be seen the most of LaLiga Golazos & Top Shot buyers, bought more than 10 NFTs over the first sales week, while the most of NFL AllDay & FIFA+ Collect buyers bought only one NFT on this week.

Also, distribution in terms of buying volume shown in the charts right indicate that the most of LaLiga Golazos Top Shot buyers, bought their NFTs in range of 10 to $25, while the Top Shot & FIFA+ Collect buyers, bought their NFTs in range of more than $50 over the first sales week.

    :mag_right: Findings:

The charts above show the sales volume ($), sales transactions, and the number of unique buyers by day over the first week of each collection on a log scale.

As can be seen in the first three days, NBA Top Shot has had the most volume and two other metrics, too. However, over the next fourth days, NFL All Day surpassed the Top Shot collection in all three metrics.

LaLiga Golazos was a little close to FIFA+ Collect with some tolerance on some days in that it had more unique buyers and sales transactions than FIFA+ Collect but had less in terms of sales volume ($).
