FLOW Usage During the NBA Playoffs

    Introduction

NFT's NBA Top Shot is a marketplace for buying, selling, and trading basketball video clips, and it's designed specifically for lovers of the sport. NBA Top Shot will be released in the year 2020 and is the result of a collaboration between the National Basketball Association and Dapper Labs, the company that developed CryptoKitties. Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson are just a few of the legendary NBA players that have invested in the company. May 12, 2022

    Method

    • By use of flow.core.fact_nft_sales table and filter of nft_collection ilike '%TopShot%' and joint it with flow.core.dim_topshot_metadata table I tried to calculate the obtained Metrics as below.

Q19. Analyze the NBA Conference Finals (May 17th- May 29th) and determine whether it had an impact on NBA Top Shot's volume.

    Conclusion

Utilization of FLOW was studied here in this dashboard. During the NBA Playoffs, and based on this, we notice an increase in NFT sales compared to the period before the finals, and we see this rise in terms of percent in the three periods before, after, and during the finals period. Before the finished product is even available for purchase, around 44 percent of the total sales have already been tallied. During the finals, around 33 percentage of the total sales were made. After everything was said and done, the overall number of sales experienced a decline of roughly 23 percent. There is a preliminary statistic that takes into account approximately 37% of the overall volume of sales. The finals accounted for more than one third of total sales overall. Following the conclusion, the total volume of sales has been factored in with a drop of around 28 percent. Consider the Warriors, Celtics, Mavericks, and Heat as four distinct organizations, and compare how they stack up against one another. The most significant increase in sales was seen by the Mavericks, who were responsible for around 11 percent of overall sales across the three time periods that were analyzed, followed by the Warriors, who were responsible for approximately 10 percent of total sales during the same period. As a direct consequence of the Warriors championship game, there has been a large spike in the volume of purchases.
