Create a dashboard showing user activity and growth of these three games. Is there any crossover between these three games in terms of users or does each game seem to have its own fan base? What is the profile of gaming users on Solana? What types of activities are these users doing within the games and within the Solana ecosystem?
✨Introduction
Star Atlas, Genopets, and Aurory are play-to-earn games that operate on Solana's blockchain. Play-to-earn games are games in which players can earn real assets, typically in the form of in-game tokens or non-fungible tokens (NFTs), that have real-world value. Solana's blockchain is a decentralized platform that uses blockchain technology to securely record and store data, including the transactions and assets within these play-to-earn games. By operating on the Solana blockchain, these games offer players the ability to earn assets that are secure, transparent, and tradeable, as well as a fun and engaging gaming experience.
User retention refers to the percentage of users who continue to use a product, service, or platform over a given period of time after their initial engagement. It is a measure of how effectively a company or organization can keep its users engaged and coming back to the product. A high user retention rate is an indicator of customer satisfaction and loyalty, while a low retention rate may indicate a need to improve the user experience or address other issues that are causing users to lose interest or leave the platform.
🛠️ Method
There are an investigation conducted to study the performance of three play-to-earn games on Solana's blockchain. The investigation has focused on analyzing the transaction count, new player count, and activity types of the players. The study also included an analysis of the retention rate of users.
The data was collected over time and represented in various charts and graphs, including bar charts, pie charts, and line graphs. The study looked at the number of weekly transactions and compared it to the total transactions in the Solana ecosystem. It also analyzed the number of new players and their activity types, such as swaps, NFT interactions, governance staking, and game playing.
The investigation also analyzed the crossover users of the three games and found that Star Atlas had the largest fan group, followed by Genopets and Aurory. Finally, the study looked at the retention rate of users, which was calculated by the percentage of users who returned to the game in the next month after their initial transaction.
Overall, the investigation aimed to provide an overview of the performance of play-to-earn games on Solana's blockchain and understand the behavior of users in these games.

✍🏻 Summary
To summarize the analysis in more detail, the Star Atlas game has seen a total of nearly 60,000 new players since its launch in December 2021. The game saw a significant increase in new users during its first month of launch, but the weekly transaction count has decreased since then. The most popular activities among players are token swapping, game playing, and NFT interactions. The NFT marketplace and governance began in the middle of 2022. The least popular activity among players is participating in covert activities. The analysis also provides a view of user retention rates, with the June and July cohorts being the most loyal. The charts provide insight into the behavior of players over time, and the cumulative new wallets chart shows a sharp increase in new users who are online for one to two days and a decline for users who are online for more than 200 days. Overall, the charts provide a comprehensive view of the transactions and active user counts on the Star Atlas game in the Solana ecosystem.

⏳ Sojourner or Inhabitants
Here, we filter out wallets with > 10k transaction counts to exclude bots/contracts.
Most of the players were actually inhabitants.
The chart above shows the cumulative new wallets by the number of days where they have been active. From the chart above, we see a sharp raise in new users between those who have been online for a day to those who are online for 2 or more days (5.92K → 51k).
When we look at users who are online for > 200 days, this drops to ~8k. This suggests that the majority of the players were more like long term inhabitants.
🔎 Findings:
The charts in this section represent the transactions and active user counts by their activity types on the game space.
According to these charts, it is clear that game playing is the most popular action among Stars players, which is clearly understandable.
NFT marketplace interactions take second place with 12.7% (Mint & Sales), as described in the previous section, of the total transaction, which is normal given that everything in this game is NFT. In the middle of 2022, the NFT marketplace and governance began.
The least popular action among the players is participating in the covert activities.

🔥 Player Retention
Charts Guide
There is a specific chart for Star Atlas players contains the since game's launching date.
reading vertically (up to down) shows the product lifetime. comparing different cohorts at the same stage in their life cycle — we can see what % of people in a cohort are coming back to the game after 3 months and so on.
reading horizontally (left to right) shows the lifetime — seeing the long-term relationship with people in cohort — to ascertain how long people are coming back and how strong or how valuable that cohort is.
cohort column is the month that users had a transaction in the game and we want to see how many of them had another transaction in the next 1 month, 2 months, etc.
The total Users Column is the number of total active users in the cohort month.
for example in the Deceember cohort month, 33.07K unique users had at least a transaction in the game. 1 month after (January) 58.8% of 33K users in December again transacted in the game. so 58% of December users were retained in the next month but in the next 2 months, 51.56% of 33K users were retained.
Until next December the retention rate goes above and reached 87.9%, In the new year, in recent January it slowly decreased to 78.3%, which means that 78.3% of 19.4K users in December, were retained in January again and transacted in the game.
The users that were in the June & July are the most loyal users so that, 62 & 57% of these months users had other transactions 8 & 9 months later, respectively.
