Introduction

Staking is a prominent aspect of cryptocurrencies. Staking involves buying and keeping cryptocurrencies to get rewards. HODL-like, except you can't spend your balances at will. Solana's complex algorithm requires some digging.

Staking collects incentives for tracking and blocking your cryptocurrencies from a wallet. First, open a Solana holding account. Solana network tokens can be staked for prizes. Stake accounts are generated and managed differently than system wallet addresses.

Each stake account has two signing authorities who can perform specified transactions. Addresses identify these signing authorities.

Method

In this dashboard I used solana.core.fact_events table to calculate amount of staked $SOL since 2022 and also by use of solana.core.fact_transactions table tried to count the unique staker users on same time to date.

I defined unique address that have had first their transactions since 2022 as new wallet, and before that date as established wallets.

Analysis

Conclusion

On January 4th the count of Staked transactions are the most and after that follows the count of all transactions went of downward trend since Feb 8th, on the most tx day on Solana to date.
The cumulative growth on tx are increasingly to date.
Less than 0.1 % of all users on 2022 staked $Sol, that is significantly low, that could be cause of high volatility in market since 2022.
More than 62% of Stakers are new wallets, in contract of 37% of Stakers that belongs to established wallets.
As we can see in the cumulative growth in staking by new wallets and established wallets, the momentum of growth in new staker wallet are so sharpen than established wallet, that shows new wallets have has more tends to stake Solana than established wallets.
The amount 8% of staked $Sol are staked in Marinade since 2022.
As of momentum on cumulative growth on amount of Staked $Sol on Marinade, we can see that, there are noticeable user trends that lead to staking with Marinade since 2022,
