NEAR Performance

Q5. How does NEAR stock up to other L1s in terms of speed and performance? How fast is NEAR, and compare it with other blockchain speeds in terms of transactions per minute and percentage of transactions that fail.

transaction per minute on Near has been downward, From about 400 to 200. (It can be said that it may have reached a plateau)

the downward was probably due to the fall of Bitcoin and Near itself.

Flow transaction per minute has been full of ups and downs, There is no fixed trend.

Comparing the two, Flow has almost twice as many transactions as Near (either at the peak of the charts or the rest of the time).

Wow!! : My first reaction was when I saw these two charts together. (Well done Flow!)

Average failure percentage on Near is about : 20%

which is not good, I think.

    for Flow is about : 5% !

I don't want to say that Near is bad, but if the transaction failure percentage is high, users will be lost over time. So I think what Near can do is to improve this situation.

    Conclusion

    • In term of TPM : Near is almost half of Flow.
    • In term of percentage of transactions that fail Near 4 times more failures than Flow.

NOTE : In the two graphs below, the numbers show successful transactions per minute.

NOTE : I did not compare Ethereum because of the high fee and Solana because of the huge difference in the number of transactions with other blockchains.

    NEAR

NEAR is a blockchain that has been built from the ground up to be high-performant, incredibly secure, and infinitely scalable all while supporting sustainability. Simply put, NEAR is a layer one, sharded, proof-of-stake blockchain built for usability and scalability.

    FLOW

Flow is a fast, decentralized, and developer-friendly blockchain, designed as the foundation for a new generation of games, apps, and the digital assets that power them.
