1. Introduction

What is Thorchain ?

Thorchin is a solution for interaction between different blockchains that can seamlessly exchange digital currencies between them in a decentralized manner.

Torchin allows users to trade digital currencies between different blockchains, without the need to transfer them to a single blockchain or perform additional transactions. By creating a communication contract, this protocol allows different blockchains to communicate securely with each other.

Rune token is the native token of the Thorchin platform. In Thorchin ecosystem, RUNE acts as the platform's utility token.

In fact, RUNE tokens are used for exchange, commission payments, bonuses to validate. Validators should use RUNE tokens for holding and membership in the validation set. These validators or block manufacturers will be responsible for validating transactions and creating blocks in Thorchin blockchain

3. Method

1- Holders of Rune calculated with thorchain.transfers table. We calculated sum of all Rune that enter the wallet and subtract it from sum of all Rune that exit the wallet,

(sum amount of rune when the address is in the to_address column)-(sum amount of rune when it is in the from_address column)

and if the result is greater than zero, then this wallet holds Rune

2- For finding the number of users with open LP position, I used thorchain.liquidity_actions table. I did the same as I did in the Holders section, but here we have stake units, and we must net sum of stake units for each address. Stake units for remove liquidity action is negative

The Figure on the right shows us the holders of RUNE over a time from the beginning of the year

AS we see, there is continues increase in number of holders over time

The figure on the right shows us From the beginning of the year, there was increase until May 2022. After that there is decrease that is because of condition of market

The ATH of Users with open position was 12.22K.

4. Conclusion

1- there are 39.3K users that are holding Rune

2- there are 8.42K Users that have open LP position

3- number OF Rune holder is on bullish trend from the start of 2022

4- until May there was continues increase in users with LP position but after May due to the condition of market decreasing started
