SOLANA Network Performance Dashboard

Here we will analyze the network performance over the past month compared to the rest of the year. Has transaction per second and success rates of transactions gone up recently? Is this because of less botting or fewer users, or new improvements from the Solana engineers? What wallets and programs have paid the most in fees for failed transactions?

First we will show TPS and success rate of transactions in the 2 intervals mentioned before.

TPS and success rate of the last month.

    • We see that for the first four months of the year TPS is dropping more than 50% and in the last 3 months is steadily increasing. Specifically last month TPS generally is between 500-600.
    • The success rate chart shows that is follows a similar course as the TPS but with a time delay of approximately 1 month. Last month success rate is constantly rising from 55% to 80%.

Now let’s see at users and bots transactions separately.

We use the API endpoint and we load the data on Colab where we separate and visualize them.

We present the data from March 1 - July 13.

    • We actually see bot activity after a harsh decline to rise with an increase of 500%.

    • On the other end User activity hit a ceiling around May and dropped by about 40% probably due to price decline.

Note: It is worthy to note that bot activity is an order of magnitude higher than user activity.

(That’s why we needed to separate them we couldn’t plot them here. )

    • So comparing all the above charts we can conclude that success rate increased mainly because of bot activity increase since they are way more accurate and fast than a human.

    • And since bot activity increased which puts more pressure on the network and TPS also increased we can relate that to engineering improvements.

Finally let’s see at the wallets and programs that spent the most on fees for failed transactions this year.
