    Objective

    • We would like to determine the number of Metamask wallets that have used the Metamask swap feature.
    • We examine the average amount of ETH held in Metamask wallets.
    • We attempt to identify what proportion of Metamask wallets engage in higher-order activities, such as staking.

    What is Metamask?

As with other browser plugins, MetaMask must be installed before it can be used as an Ethereum wallet. Once loaded, users may use any Ethereum address to transact by storing Ether and other ERC-20 tokens. Users may utilize their money in games, stake tokens in gambling apps, and sell them on decentralized exchanges by linking MetaMask to Ethereum-based dapps (DEXs). It also gives consumers a method to access DeFi applications like Compound and PoolTogether, which are part of the developing decentralized finance, or DeFi, marketplace.

    Part I:

The number of Metamask wallets that have utilized the Metamask swap function, as well as the average amount of ETH held in Metamask wallets, are shown in the two results below.

    Part II:

The visualization categorizes Metamask wallets based on the quantity of ETH they hold.

The pie graphic illustrates the percentage of overall ETH held by Metamask wallets. It can be seen that users classified as Shrimp and holding between $0 and $10 amount of ETH tokens account for 98.9 percent of all ETH holders. 0.954 percent of all wallets are crab wallets, followed by 0.0905 percent of all wallets that are octopus wallets. The pie chart demonstrates that the majority of ETH is held by Metamask wallets categorized as Shrimp and Crab, indicating that all Metamask wallets that have utilized the Metamask swap function are driven by common wallets.

    Part III:

We try to figure out what percentage of Metamask wallets participate in higher-order activities like staking.

The pie graph demonstrates the percentage of Metamask wallets participating in higher-order activities such as staking. We can observe that 588,318 Metamask wallets, or 46.3 percent of all Metamask wallets, have been engaged in higher-order activities such as staking. However, the remaining Metamask wallets, about 683,033 wallets or 53.7 percent, have never participated in a staking program before.

    Conclusion

    • There are 1.271M wallets that have used the Metamask swap functionality.
    • The average amount of ETH held in Metamask wallets is 0.92 ETH per user.
    • The bulk of ETH is held by Metamask wallets classed as Shrimp and Crab, suggesting that all Metamask wallets that have exploited the Metamask swap feature are driven by common wallets.
    • In addition, we discovered that 588,318 Metamask wallets, or 46.3 percent participated in higher-order operations like staking.
