Terra Governance Proposals

This dashboard takes a closer look at Terra's governance proposals.

    Conclusion

The majority of governance proposals have historically been text proposals, meaning feature requests for the terra team. February 2021 saw the highest amount of proposals which directly correlates to the largest month-to-month changes in delegators and transactions.

    Terra Monthly Transactions

Next looking solely at the onboarding of general users of the Terra ecosystem, we can see that transactions have continually increased from month to month. What's more interesting is that the month of February saw a maximum percentage change of 35%, the highest uptick in transactions to date.

    Monthly Delegate Volume

We can see that the jump in proposals is also closely correlated to the 11k increase in delegators and 300K USD in delegate volume. With this large onboard, the influx of community members must've introduced innovation in the form of new proposals.

    Terra Governance Proposals

Governance proposals are community implemented petitions that range from requests for feature implementation by the development team to burning LUNA in the community pool. There are two types of proposals:

    • Text Proposals - feature requests for the core development team
    • Parameter Change Proposals - petitions that are automatically put into effect once/if the proposal has been passed.

    Terra Proposals over Time

The following graph shows the number of monthly proposals and distinct monthly proposers. With data starting in December 2020, monthly proposals were well below 10 until February 2021, which jumped to 26 proposals. We also see that text proposals (feature requests) seem to be the majority of the proposals. This hints at the fact that as the ecosystem continues to grow, more and more features are wanted by the community. Let's see if this is correct.
