Introduction

Uniswap is the largest decentralised exchange in crypto, before dex like Uniswap for crypto enthusiasts to access tokens they would need to buy them through centralised exchanges, mine them or buy them peer to peer. Uniswap offered users an easy way to access tokens offering the benefit of these tokens being stored on wallets where they hold the private keys. So what is the relationship between CEX and the Uniswap token.

Look at the total amount of Uniswap transferred to and from CEX's in USD

The above chart highlights the amount of Uniswap being exchanged from and to exchanges in dollars, the amounts are close in dollar value. We can see that month to month that the leader in dollar value changes often. With the amount transferred to leading on most months. Amount transferred from breaks the one billion dollar mark which amount transferred to is yet to do in the last year. Overall we have seen a decline in the volume of each to and from exchanges over the last year.

As we can see amount transferred from Exchanges is marginally in the lead, when users hold or transfer more of their crypto off exchanges this is seen as a positive sign for the crypto market as this is usually the action of someone who wants to hold their crypto. However, the margin is only 0.64%. It's important to note that users who have bought Uniswap from a dex and not from a CEX won't be included in these numbers if they are yet to send their uniswap to a centralised exchange.
