Question
- How frequently do users on Osmosis unstake their Osmosis?
- What do they do with the OSMO once unstaked? Do they re-delegate, enter a LP position, or swap into another token?
- Do they re-delegate to certain validators more frequently than others? Why might this be so?
Methodology
- In this dashboard, the activity of unstakers has been analyzed from different aspects.
- In this dashboard, the following tables are used to extract data:
osmosis.core.fact_staking
osmosis.core.fact_swaps
osmosis.core.dim_labels
osmosis.core.fact_liquidity_provider_actions
Data Analysis
The graph below shows the number of delegation, undelegation and re-delegation in each month. According to this chart, the number of delegations has been on the rise from June 2021 to April 2022, and the number of delegations has increased every month, but from April onwards to the current month, the number of delegations has been decreasing. On the other hand, checking the number of monthly re-delegations shows that the highest number of redelegations is related to March 2022. Checking the number of monthly undelegations also shows that Osmosis chain users recorded the highest number of undelegations in March 2022.
The total number of distinct users who have unstaked their OSMO asset so far is:
On the other hand, the chart below shows the time interval between Osmo staking and unstaking. According to this chart, in about 66% of the total times that users staked their assets, they decided to unstake their assets after more than a month and less than a year. On the other hand, About 23.4% of the time, users have unstaked their assets (OSMO) after a week and less than a month.
Also, about 12k times, users have unstaked their OSMO after one day.
According to the chart below, more than 12.25k times, users unstaked their assets after exactly two weeks (the most Popular unstaking interval). The downward trend of this chart also shows that users are less willing to unstake their assets after a long period of time.
Among all unstakers, about 36.7k of them have swapped their OSMOs to other currencies.
ATOM has been the most popular currency among these users to swap with OSMO.
The chart below shows the 10 most popular currencies among these users.
About 12.28k users also decided to re-delegate their OSMOs.
The chart below shows the top 10 redeleggers by OSMO volume.
Similarly, about 30.57k unstakers also decided to enter a LP position. It should be noted that some unstakers may have swapped their OSMOs at the same time or entered an LP position with a part of their OSMOs.
99The following chart also shows the top 10 liquidity providers according to OSMO volume.
According to the diagram below, most unstakers have chosen Cosmostation, Sentinel dVPN and Figment validators for redelegate. The reason for choosing these validators can be things such as their lower commission fee or their higher voting power or higher profit for delegators.
The following graph shows the delegated volume to different validators in the monthly time frame.
