Introduction
Coin Mixer
Although the identity of users is hidden in the blockchain, the traces of their transactions will not be hidden. Exchanges and other custodians of cryptocurrencies require customer authentication or KYC. As a result, a simple data leak can give hackers or institutions the opportunity to link users' personal data with their past transactions.
There are some privacy solutions that have been launched in the last decade. In this context, we can mention Monero and ZCash, which are significant examples. However, both mentioned projects have their own chains and do not benefit from a solution that covers privacy in other blockchains. So what do cryptocurrency enthusiasts do to protect their identity 100%? This is where Tornado Cash with TORN cryptocurrency comes into play.
Tornado Cash
TornadoCash is a non-cryptic privacy solution for the Ethereum network based on zk-SNARKs technology. By using this protocol, users can break a loop of activities on the chain in order to preserve the privacy of the transaction, between the recipient and the destination address.
This network acts as a sophisticated coin mixer and uses smart contracts. Tornado accepts deposits made on the Ethereum blockchain and then allows other addresses to withdraw them. Since withdrawals are made from the project's smart contract liquidity pools, there will be no way to know who the original sender is.
