Introduction
- THORChain is an independent blockchain built using the Cosmos SDK that will serve as a cross-chain decentralized exchange (DEX). It uses an automated market maker (AMM) model that resembles the first iterations of Bancor (BNT) or Uniswap where THORChain's native token (RUNE) will be the base swap pair. This model allows traders to move between different asset pools using RUNE as a somewhat hidden intermediary. It also rewards liquidity providers (LPs), those that deposit or “stake” assets on either side of a liquidity pool, with a portion of trading fees. THORChain also uses an adapted version of Bancor's "smart tokens," which it calls Continuous Liquidity Pools (CLPs), to facilitate the exchange of assets. The key difference is that CLPs reward users for contributing to the liquidity in each pool. - The purpose of creating this dashboard is to examine the distribution of exchange sizes in both $RUNE and USD, both for all pools and by pool.
Methodology
Date limit considered for this dashboard: Date>='2022-01-01'
First, the total volume of swaps in the pools was checked based on USD, RUNE. Then 7 ranges from 1 to more than 100K were created. Based on these ranges, we checked the swap sizes and checked the monthly changes of the swap volume in these ranges (based on USD, RUNE). After checking the volume of swaps in these areas, we determined the number of users who had swaps in each of these 7 areas. In two Area charts, we checked swap sizes (by pools) in RUNE and USD. And in the final section, we displayed Distribution by pools with a donut chart.
Conclusion
Based on the above analysis, we can conclude that: the largest volume of swaps based on USD in 2022 is in the range of 1K-10K, but based on the RUNE token, it is in the range of 100-500. The maximum number of users is in the range of 10-100 USD, and their number is 17.65 thousand users according to the range of this dashboard. Also, if we consider the range of more than 100 thousand dollars as whales, 427 whales are in this range. The 1K-10K USD range in the chart by pool was the dominant range in most pools. But the dominant range based on RUNE was 100-500 in most pools. The largest share of the distribution between the pools, both based on USD and based on RUNE, belonged to the BNB.BUSD-BD1 pool.
Swap sizes in USD
Donut chart shows the number of swaps based on the range of swaps performed (based on usd units) displayed by the user. The considered ranges are as follows: (0-10), (10-100), (500-100), (1k-500), (1k-10k), (10k-100k) and (more than 100k). These intervals are first checked in this section based on USD, and in the two charts below, they are checked based on RUNE. This range accounts for 59.3% of swap transactions. It is also followed by the range of 500 to 1000 dollars with 23.1% of transactions.
In the Area chart, you can see the monthly changes in the number of swap transactions in these ranges from the beginning of 2022 to the beginning of September.
Since the beginning of May, the number of swap transactions in the ranges of 100-500 and 500-1000 has increased dramatically. You can see other ranges in the chart.
Number of swappers
In the bar chart, the number of swappers was displayed based on the volume of their dollar transactions; As it is known, the number of vales (swaps more than 100 thousand dollars) is 427 people, that is, very few swaps with the value of more than 100 thousand dollars are done. Between 10 and 100 dollars, 17.65 thousand users have made swaps, which is higher than other ranges in the chart. After that, there is a range of 100-500 dollars, where more users made swaps. Also, in the range of 10k-100k, they have had a small number of swaps, which is almost equal to 6 thousand people.

According to the chart, it can be concluded that the range that prevails in most pools is the range of 1K-10K USD. Only in some pools such as BNB.AVA-645, BCH.BCH, BTC.BTC and a few other pools in the range of 100-500 USD more swaps have been done.

Distribution by pools
You can see the distribution by pools in the first 9 pools. As the donut chart shows, BNB.BUSD-BD1 pool had the largest share in the distribution with 1,366,212 USD. Next is the BTC.BTC pool at USD 382,189.
You can see in the chart some other pools that had a greater share in distribution than other pools. Considering that the distribution of pools based on RUNE is similar to USD, this chart covers both completely.

According to this chart, the specified ranges are based on RUNE, you can see that the dominant color in most of the pools is purple, which indicates the swap range of 100-500 RUNE. The above two charts are similar to the charts at the beginning of the dashboard, with the difference that the unit of these two charts is RUNE.
The intervals examined in these charts are similar to the USD intervals. In the donut chart, the largest volume of swaps is in the range of 100-500 RUNE, which accounts for approximately 56% of the volume of swaps. After that, there is the range of 500-1K RUNE, which accounted for 20.7 percent. Also, in the Area chart, you can see the monthly changes in the distribution of swaps in the specified intervals based on RUNE. In the green color chart, which represents the range of 100-500, the dominant color of this chart is in the range of 2022. Since the beginning of April, the ranges of 500-1K, 1K-10K have increased in size.
