Forefront Curators (April 19th update)
Q2. Forefront has token-permissioned governance and curation channels that require holders owning at least 1000 FF tokens. Create a visualization of the number of curator roles in Forefront over time. Are more curators being added over time? How could Forefront incentivize growth in curator roles?
Introduction
Forefront is the launchpad empowering web3 explorers to create at the frontier of tokenized communities. They strive to empower and serve the Web3 world-builders of tomorrow via 1) literacy, 2) tribe and 3) tools.
Forefront's community uses a access structure based on the $FF token. This dashboard is an update to Forefront Curators dashboard and will analyse the evolution of curators using the following definitions:
- curators: holders with more than 1000 $FF tokens as intended on the original bounty end of March
- centurions: holders with more than 100 $FF tokens, as some indications show that curation content is available now at this level (see last paragraph of picture below)
Methodology
Addresses with a balance > 1000
and a balance > 100
of contract_address = lower('0x7E9D8f07A64e363e97A648904a89fb4cd5fB94CD')
tokens will be searched with 2 different CTEs and on ethereum.erc20_balances
table. These addresses will be counted, aggregating them by date to see the evolution of the number of curators on Forefront community for 2022.
Forefront Treasury address will be excluded from the analysis with user_address != '0x2fb9f0ef424b24a8d293999298f392a33fe6a8b5'
Conclusion
In the original dashboard, the number of curators had stagnated, probably because the incentive model with the existing community size had reached its limit. The increase in curators since March 1st could be explained by a change in any of both variables - different incentives or comunity growth.
Two other factors could be named:
-
If curation content is available to centurions, it might well trigger some of them to buy enough FF tokens to access the next tier.
-
Contribution rewards from Season 1 and 2 or Forefront bounty program could also have triggered the increase in curators by distributing more FF tokens in the community.
It would also be possible that by participating in Flipside's Bounty program, more people came to know Forefront's activity as well.
Figure 2 shows the number of centurions (addresses with more that 100 $FF in their balance) since January 1st 2022. A V-shape trend can be identified, with a maximum number of 1008 in January 5th falling down to 990 in February 28th and reaching 1009 on April 15th. Although this increase since March 1st takes place at the same time as the increase in curators,it represents a 1.8% from Janury 2st numbers.
Figure 3 shows that in spite of the simultaneous increase of both type of holders, they are not strongly correlated.
Figure 1 shows the number of curators (addresses with more that 1000 $FF in their balance) since January 1st 2022. There is a first stage where value oscillates between 223 and 228 until March 1st. From that point on, the number of curators has increased at an average of around 2.5 curators / week. Overall, an 8% increase since January 1st.
Although it is not a very significant increase, it clearly breaks the stagnation of the first two months of the year and could be the start of a stable growth for Forefront.
