    Introduction

For the uninitiated w.r.t. to basketball, the NBA finals are the most major event in basketball all across the world.

Flow is hosting TopShot in partnership with the NBA, where fans can own cards that encapsulate moments in the history of the NBA.

We’ll be looking at the sales for the following teams

    1. Golden State Warriors
    2. Dallas Mavericks
    3. Miami Heat
    4. Boston Celtics

More specifically their transaction and amount per card sale volume around the dates on which the playoffs took place.

    Summary

What we can see is that in terms of total transactions, sales volume and even average amount per sale by the team the rankings are as such:

    1. Golden State Warriors (GSW)
    2. Dallas Mavericks (DAL)
    3. Miami Heat (MIA)
    4. Boston Celtics (BOS)

What we can also see is that transactions and sales volume picked up on May 22nd 2022, Game 3 of the GSW DAL series. This is apparent in the value of Golden State Warriors cards increasing as well as the fans wanting to collect them, speculatively at that point.

    Evaluation

What could be interesting to look at here is post-playoffs, what are the sales volume stats of these teams, and has there been a spike/increase as soon as GSW won the playoffs? Have the people that bought BOS cards started selling at a loss?
