The Eclipse Score

Invent an easy-to-use "Eclipse Score", based on at least 3 metrics, to display validators who are not effectively representing their delegators via voting. For example: if you participate in only 5% of votes but are in the top 5% of validators by LUNA delegated, you should have a terrible Eclipse Score. Alternatively, if you participate in 5% of votes but are in the bottom 10% of Validators by amount delegated, you're not letting down the community quite as badly, and your score should reflect that (but it still shouldn't be very good; 5% is awful) Provide a table and at least 1 visual that displays validators according to your Eclipse Score, e.g. a bubble chart with LUNA Delegated vs. Votes Attended. Top Score Worthy: Additionally, analyze the top 5 best and top 5 worst validators according to your Eclipse score. For Insight, provide your analysis or commentary on one, several, or all of these validators.

    Introduction

We'll first look at some top-level drill-down metrics to get a general idea of what voting looks like and how many proposals most usually vote for.

From the graph above, we can see that not all validators vote on every proposal, which is as expected. What we can also see is that there are 2 validators that came online around proposal 15 and proposal 100 that seem to be pretty consistent at voting.

    Drilling down further

Let's create, what I understand to be the "Eclipse Score" and see who is the most active validator per proposal vs their competition...

By looking at this table and graph, the top 5 Validators by eclipse score are Smart Stake, Staking, healings, BTC.Secure and Staking Fund.

Let's now look at how the voting power of those top 5 validators by eclipse score looked like for each proposal.

What we can see is that Smart Stake usually have a lot more voting power than all of the rest, with healings having the least amount of voting power per proposal, but all of them voting for almost all of the proposals

    Summary

In this report, we looked at the top 5 validators, by how active they are. This was an interesting metric to look at, as it shows how interested and engaged these validators are. It also shows that there is no need to have a really high Voting Power to care and vote for the majority of votes.

    Evaluation

I would have liked to also look at how many votes per proposal each of the top 5 or 10 have put down, to see the conviction in certain proposals as well as how active they are. (Part of this can be found in one of the SQL queries above). I would have also liked to see how much commission they take and what they are all about.
