Avalanche Chain ELI5 User Analysis
This dashboard provides a comprehensive view of user activity on the Avalanche blockchain. By analyzing key metrics such as user acquisition, retention, and engagement, you can gain valuable insights into the health and growth of the Avalanche ecosystem.
Daily/Weekly Active User Addresses:
Daily/Weekly Active User Addresses in this code refers to the unique addresses that interacted with the Avalanche blockchain on a given day/week depending on the chart you're looking at. In simpler terms, it's like counting the number of different people (represented by their addresses) who sent or received transactions on a specific day/week.
Daily/Weekly New & Returning User Addresses:
New Users: Interacted with the Avalanche blockchain for the first time on a specific day/week.
Returning Users: Interacted with the Avalanche blockchain on a specific day/week, but have previously interacted with it before.
Essentially, it's like counting the number of new people who joined the blockchain and the number of people who were already using it and continued to do so on that day.
Weekly Active Addresses and Total Transactions visualizes the trends in user activity and transaction volume on the Avalanche blockchain over time. By looking at these two lines together, you could see if there's a correlation between the number of active users and the transaction volume. For example, you might notice that an increase in active users is often accompanied by a rise in transactions, or vice versa. Weekly Active Addresses and Total Value (both in $AVAX and USD) in the same way visualizes how the number of unique addresses interacting with the Avalanche blockchain and the total value of transactions have changed over time, week by week.
A log scale is used in this visualization to make it easier to see trends in data that grows or shrinks rapidly. When numbers get really big or really small, they can be hard to compare on a regular (linear) scale. Using a log scale helps to compress these numbers, making it easier to spot patterns and understand how things are changing over time.
First User Address Interaction Sector Engagement visualizes how many unique addresses (i.e., new users) interacted with different sectors of the Avalanche blockchain when they first used it. The chart would show you which sectors were most popular among new users and how many new users were drawn to each sector. It helps you understand the initial preferences of new users on the Avalanche blockchain.
Age Tiers of Active User Addresses visualizes the distribution of unique addresses on the Avalanche blockchain based on their age (how long ago they first interacted with the blockchain). It helps you understand the user base's age distribution and identify trends in user retention.
User Transaction Activity Distribution visualizes how many unique addresses on the Avalanche blockchain fall into different categories based on the number of transactions they've made. It shows you how many addresses are making a lot of transactions versus how many are making only a few. It gives insight to the overall activity level of users on the blockchain.
User Addresses Last Seen Distribution visualizes how many unique addresses on the Avalanche blockchain fall into different categories based on how recently they were active. The chart shows you how many addresses are actively engaged versus how many are inactive for various periods. It helps you understand user retention and identify trends in user engagement over time.
Monthly Churned New Users and Churn Rate % chart
This visualizes how the number of new users joining the Avalanche blockchain and the number of those new users who have churned (stopped being active) have changed over time, month by month. It shows you trends like Growth (If the number of new users is increasing over time), Decline (If the number of new users is decreasing), and Churn (If the percentage of new users who churn is high or low), helping you understand the overall user acquisition and retention on the Avalanche blockchain. The weekly chart shows no. of weekly new users who have stopped being active
User's First Interaction DeFi/DApps/Dex/Cex Engagement (log scale)
These visualize how many unique addresses (i.e., new users) interacted with different DeFi/DApps/Dex/Cex projects on the Avalanche blockchain when they first used it. These charts show you which DeFi/DApps/Dex/Cex projects were most popular among new users and how many new users were drawn to each project, with the log scale making it easier to visualize large differences in the number of users.
User Monthly Retention Rate over the last 12 months
This table provides a breakdown of how many new users from each month have remained active (retained) after 1, 2, 3, ..., 12 months. It helps you understand how well users are sticking around and engaging with the Avalanche blockchain over time. It's a valuable tool for measuring user retention and identifying areas for improvement.
Table Structure:
Earliest Month: The month in which new users were first identified.
Number of New Users: The total number of new users in that month.
Retention Percentages: The percentage of new users from that month who were still active after 1, 2, 3, ..., 12 months.
