    The Olas protocol demonstrates remarkable cross-chain staking growth, with 1,924 unique participants across Ethereum, Gnosis, and Optimism networks. Total staked volume surged from 104 tokens in November 2023 to 2.8 million tokens by mid-2024, representing a 27,238% increase. The protocol generated 129,382 OLAS in staking rewards on the Gnosis blockchain, with the Quickstart Beta Expert contract alone generating 123,803.909 tokens, and achieving a total value locked of $1.55 million across Gnosis and Optimism networks.

    Olas staking involves a unique mechanism to Olas called "Proof of Active Agent" (PoAA). POAA rewards agents for contributing towards specific on-chain KPIs that service owners specify (e.g.  trading volume, market making, etc.) OLAS token holders can then direct OLAS emissions to the staking programs they find most valuable using veOLAS (locked OLAS) voting power. Agents need to remain active and meet KPI thresholds to earn their staking rewards.
