What Is NEAR Protocol?

NEAR Protocol is a software that aims to incentivize a network of computers to operate a platform for developers to create and launch decentralized applications.

Central to NEAR Protocol’s design is the concept of sharding, a process that aims to split the network’s infrastructure into several segments in order for computers, also known as nodes, to only have to handle a fraction of the network’s transactions.

How Does NEAR Protocol Work?

NEAR Protocol is a proof of stake blockchain that aims to compete with other platforms thanks to its sharding solution, which it calls ‘Nightshade.’

Nightshade:

Sharding is a blockchain architecture that allows each participating node in the blockchain to only store a small subset of the platform’s data. Sharding should allow the blockchain to scale more efficiently, while enabling a greater amount of transactions per second and lower transaction fees.

Total number of New Users

• The total number of new users over past 3 months grew to about 207K.

Daily and Weekly count of Near new users in last 3 months.

• July had the highest number of new users in last 3 months.

• The most elevated number of new users, had joined Near in the first two weeks of July.

• In the next week, this number decreased more than 1/5, but in another weeks it started to grew again.

Daily account creation

• New account creation increased significantly on July 8 with 3427 new created accounts and continued to increase till July 13, after then the daily number of account creation dropped suddenly to

about 221 new account in a single day on July 14.

• Daily account creation has a relation with daily count new users chart and Daily account creation has a correlation with daily transaction amount.

Most well known protocols for new users

• Aurora is the most popular protocol for new user interaction, followed by app.nearcrowd.near.

Top 10 most common actions taken During The Past 3 Months.

• During the last 3 months, the most action that new users performed for the first time was submit. Users made about 922k submit transactions, which means more than 70% of new user transactions.

• FT Transfer Call was in the second place with the most actions and users made more than 111k.

• transactions. we can find that most number of the transactions of new users are submitted over time.

In the last 3 months, the Near network faced many new users and account creations and new users had the most transactions related to submit, followed by Transfer call.
