NEAR Gas Guzzlers

Introduction:
NEAR Protocol is a decentralized application (dApp) platform and Ethereum competitor and it is a Proof-of-Stake blockchain that uses sharding technology to achieve scalability. Its native token is NEAR and used to pay for transaction fees and storage on the Near crypto platform.
This dashboard will investigate into this blockchain to check its smart contracts and their gas fee usage.
Methodology:
To do this analysis I used
- Flipside Crypto database
flipside_prod_db.mdao_near.transactionstable
Checking Near Gas fees since Sep 1st, 2021 shows:

At the beginning “App.nearcrowd.near” contract had the most gas fee used, but by increasing other contracts portion, its position reduced.

On 5 Sep and 19 Oct 2021, “X.para.near” contract had the most gas fee paid.

From 14 to 21 January 2022, “V1.nearapps.near” contract won the second place.

From 13 to 21 March 2022, “V2.nearapps.near” contracts had the most gas fee paid and took Aurora place.

From 11 to 13 May 2022, “V2.ref_finance.near” contract had the second place (instead of “App.nearcrowd.near”)

Totally, “Aurora” was first and “App.nearcrowd.near” was second among top ten.

According to the charts above:
- “Aurora” contract has the most gas fee usage among all of contracts.
- As we get closer to current date, “Aurora” share get more.
- “Zomland.near”, “V1.pembrock.near”, “V2.ref_farming.near” contracts have recently been added to top ten list.
Checking Near blockchain daily gas fee usage chart shows:
- Most gas fee is paid on Jan 16, 2022 (top gas user contracts chart peak is on Jan 16, 2022 too)
- Least gas fee is paid on Jul 18, 2022 (But top gas user contracts chart isn’t minimum on this date)
- All of the spikes in total daily gas chart is concurrent with Top contracts daily gas chart.
