The main aim of this dashboard is to find out whether there is more or less application usage on Algorand in the first half of 2022 compared to the 2nd half of 2021

Method

• Transactions data were extracted from algorand.transactions table.
• Call transactions data were extracted from application_call_transaction table.

First, Lets look at daily amount of transactions, group transactions and calling app transactions:

• We can see that the rise of using applications on Algorannd starts in Oct, 2021.
• The highest call transactions count was in Jan, 2nd 2022 with about 600,000 call transactions.

The daily average transaction counts increased by about 9% from 2nd half of 2021 to 1st half of 2022 but this increase rate for call transactions is more than 150%.

• We can see that the rise of using applications on Algorand starts in October 2021 and the rising trend continued till January 2022.
• We had the most transactions on Algorand in December 2021 and the most call transactions in January 2022.
• In September 2021 only 2% of transactions was calling app transactions but in May 2022, it was more than 16%
• From March to April 2022, despite of decrease in transactions counts, percent of call transactions increased.

Now, lets compare 1st half of 2022 with 2nd half of 2021 for call transactions:

In the following table, more parameters compared:

• Average call transactions per block increased by 70% in H1-2022
• The number of wallets that made a call transactions increased from 1,960,775 wallets in H2-2021 to 7,433,613 wallets in H1-2022 which is about 380% increase!

Conclusion

• This exploration showed us that there is more application usage on Algorand in the first half of 2022 compared to the 2nd half of 2021
