Daily Active User
What is Osmosis?
- Osmosis is an AMM (Automated Market Maker) protocol built on the Cosmos SDK. It allows users to build their own custom AMMs.
- Any user holding tokens of IBC compatible blockchains, such as Cosmos, Regen, or Akash, can utilize Osmisis' swapping features.
- The native token of Osmosis, OSMO, is used for governance. Holders of the OSMO token can decide on the future direction of Osmosis and its pools.

Methodology
-
An active user in this dashboard is defined as one that has conducted transactions more than 4 days each week. This definition of an active user can be modified by changing the parameter at the top of the dashboard.
-
Data for the charts in this dashboard will be from the following tables

Key Takeaways
- Over the past year, Osmosis has had an average of ~12,000 weekly active users.
- Those 12,000 users account for about 2% of the entire user base of Osmosis, meaning on average about 2% of Osmosis users have been active users each week.
- By far the two most popular tokens for active users to swap into were the OSMO and ATOM tokens. ATOM accounted for over 3.3M swaps by active users over the past year, while ATOm accounted for just under 3M.
- While Osmosis and Solana both had significant spikes and then subsequent declines in active users over the past year, Ethereum has maintained a relatively stable base of weekly active users, hovering around 50,000 to 60,000 most weeks.
- Osmosis has had the least average active users over the past year, at around 12K, while Solana has had the greatest average number of weekly active users at 82K.
- While Osmosis may have had the least number of weekly active users, it had the highest percentage of active users at 2%. This means on average 2% of the total Osmosis user base was an active user each week.
- Ethereum had the lowest percentage of active users at less than .05%.

Observations
- The weekly number of active users on Osmosis peaked in March of 2022, with just under 30,000 active users the week of March 21st.
- Since March, active user levels have dropped off, with the weekly number of active users on Osmosis currently hovering around 7,500.
- Over the past year, Osmosis has had an average of ~12,000 weekly active users.
- Those 12,000 users account for about 2% of the entire user base of Osmosis, meaning on average only around 2% of Osmosis users have been active users each week.

Observations
- The number of swaps conducted by active users on Osmosis peaked the week of May 9th, with just under 600,000 swaps conducted.
- The number of weekly LP actions by active users peaked the week of February 28th, with 145,000 LP actions by active users.
- The number of LP actions has since dropped off dramatically, suggesting active users are less interested in providing liquidity in recent months.
- By far the two most popular tokens for active users to swap into were the OSMO and ATOM tokens. ATOM accounted for over 3.3M swaps by active users over the past year, while ATOm accounted for just under 3M.
