What is the Question?🚨

The day that many citizens of the City of Near had been waiting for finally arrived late last year. As of December 19, 2022, NEAR is compatible with MetaMask, marking the first time a non-EVM chain has offered compatibility with the popular ETH wallet. This was made possible by a smart contract called NETH. You can find more about how NETH works here.

Now that the contact and ensuing compatibility has been live for nearly three months, it's time to dive deeper into the data.  Create a dashboard monitoring NETH's adoption and usage, paying special attention to any notable trends, outliers, or other events.

What is NETH?

NETH is a smart contract that enables your Ethereum account to sign transactions and remotely control your paired NEAR account, allowing you to directly interact with NEAR dApps using your Ethereum wallet, such as MetaMask.

Method⚡

In this dashboard, i explored NETH wallets on NEAR chain and analyzed their activity since NETH contract launch on December 19th 2022 to see how did these wallets perform during this period. At first i extracted them from ==Near.core== tables provided by Flipsidecrypto and filtered them with

tx_receiver = 'nethmap.near'

and tx_signer != 'nethmap.near'

and tx_status='Success'

AND block_timestamp >= '2022-12-19’

and showed their total and daily activity, then i explored their age(date of creation and top 10 in terms of transactions count).

Also i only considered successful transactions with tx_succeeded = ‘TRUE‘

Conclusion💡

• Over the past 3 months since December 19th, 2022, NETH has seen 65 wallets generating over 680 transactions, with transfer being the most popular activity and 391 transfers recorded.
• Most of these wallets were created shortly after NETH's launch, with the highest activity and wallet creation occurring on December 20th.
• Among NETH wallets, amyliang1.near was the most active over the past 3 months.
• There has been a recent increase in wallet creation and transaction activity, indicating a growing interest.

Findings👀

• Since its launch on December 19th, 2022, the NETH contract has seen the creation of 65 wallets, which have generated a total of 681 transactions in the past 3 months. The majority of wallets were created in the days immediately following the launch, and the highest number of transactions by NETH wallets occurred on December 20th.
• In recent days, the daily rate of wallet creation has increased, with a maximum of 5 wallets being created per day.
• Transfer has been the most popular action among NETH wallets, accounting for over 57% of all transactions.

Findings👀

• amyliang1.near wallet address has generated the highest number of transactions among NETH wallets during this period with over 700 transactions, almost 650 transactions more than the second wallet.
• fenz.near is the oldest wallet among NETH wallets with 73 days-old.
• Almost 50% of NETH wallets created more than 2 months ago.
