Realms vs Snapshot

Building off previous recent bounties on Realms and Snapshot, create a dashboard that shows how Realms and Snapshot are growing and used in comparison to one another. Feel free to build off previous bounty work on these platforms.

    Introduction

Realms provides a platform for builders on Solana to create a DAO, manage their members, vote on proposals, and allocate their treasury. Whether you are running a multisig, NFT community DAO, or community token DAO, Realms has the tools and integrations to help your community flourish.

Snapshot is a place where projects can create proposals for people to vote on using cryptocurrency. In the industry, this process is called ‘vote signaling’. Traditionally, to vote using cryptocurrency would normally incur fees to process the movement of currency from one wallet to another.

    Methodology

Flipside data provides us with two tables

    solana.core.fact_proposal_votes

    ethereum.core.ez_snapshot

and we can make our comparison with the help of these two tables. First, before starting the main analysis for this dashboard, it is better to take a look at the data in these tables

    Conclusion

Snapshot launched in July 2020, but Realms is much younger, launching in December 2021.

New offer creation increased in November 2021 and reached 2346 in mid-November.

As of today, 54K offers were made on Snapshot and 4.6K on Realms. Also, 1.14 million users interacted and voted on Snapshot and 4.6K on Realms

6.5 thousand DAOs were created on Snashtop and there are only 18 realms on Realms.

0.431% of Solana users interacted and voted on Realms, compared to 0.68 of all chains supported by Snapshot.

Since April 2022, the number of users of the Arbitrum and Optimism ratio in Snapshot has increased.

Solana whales have been active on Realms for the past two months, but there is no Ethereum mainnet whale activity in the snapshot.
