Introduction

In this dashboard, I want to explore what are most profitable NFT collections on Ethereum Marketplaces in 2022.

That is, at the beginning of 2022, if you bought from these collections, you would make a profit at end of the year

Top 10 Profitable Collections

Methodology

To find most profitable collection, I first calculated average price of each collection in first month of 2022. then I have calculated price of the same collections in the last month

and I have listed the price growth percentage of each collection from most to least and introduced them as most profitable collections.

In the following, I have displayed sales statistics, buyers, sales volume and other parameters of NFT market on a weekly and general basis to see how the status of these collections has changed throughout the year.

Finally, I have also introduced the most unprofitable collections

For this dashboard, I have used the ethereum.core.ez_nft_sales table and to calculate the percentage growth of the collections, I have also used following mathematical formula:

("Price in Last Weeks of 2022" - "Price in Early Weeks of 2022") / "Price in Early Weeks of 2022" * 100 as "Price Growth Percentage"

In terms of price growth, there were many collections that have recorded very very high growth, but their number of transactions and USD volume of their transactions were very low, so I applied following conditions to top 10 collections:

WHERE COUNT(DISTINCT TX_HASH) &gt; 200 and sum(PRICE) &gt; 300000

As you can see, Milady333 collection tokens with 1100% price growth compared to beginning of the year have been most profitable for buyers who bought these tokens in first month of 2022.

average price of this collection was 25 USD at beginning of the year and in recent weeks its average price has been almost 312 USD

next most profitable collection is for Milady collection tokens, which has grown by 513%

average price of this collection has increased from 119 USD at the beginning of the year to 730 USD in the last few weeks

In the charts above, you can see the average price of each collection at beginning of the year and in recent days separately in ETH and USD.

“gmdao token v2” price has changed from 0.5 ETH to 3.75 ETH

And the price of “Primera by Mitchell and Yun” has increased from 0.145 ETH to 1.34 ETH

Buyers and Sellers of Collections

Among top collections, highest number of sales is for milady collection, which has recorded 15.35K sales so far in 2022.

After that collections pudgypresent and “Social BEES University” have most sales. sales numbers of these three collections are very close to each other

number of pudgypresent sales is 3.1K sales and number of “Social BEES University” sales is 2.9K

The rest of the collections have recorded a lower number of sales

On May 16, milady collection recorded 2.3K sales in one week, which is the highest number of weekly sales among top collections.

Sales Volume by Collection

In the above charts, you can see the statistics of the sellers on right side and the charts of buyers are also displayed on left side.

Like the number of sales, here number of milady buyers is more than the others and so far in 2022, 5.9K unique buyers have bought tokens of this collection.

After that collections pudgypresent , “Social BEES University” and ”gmdao token v2” have the most buyer.

number of pudgypresent buyers is 1.2K buyers , number of “Social BEES University” buyers is 940 , and number of ”gmdao token v2” is 711.

Average and Floor Price of Collections Over Time

lowest price at which ”gmdao token v2” tokens were sold was 0.001 ETH or 2.8 USD and highest price recorded for the tokens of this collection was 13 ETH or 22.5K USD, which is a huge difference.

In terms of average price over time, price of ”gmdao token v2” collection was 2.58 ETH or 4.7K USD, and after that, the SUPER FREAK collection is in next place, and its average price in 2022 was 2600 USD.

average price of rest of the collections was between 5 and 8 SOL, but their average USD price is a little different

On June 20, the average weekly ETH price of Giraffe Tower collection reached 33.3 ETH, which is the highest average selling price among other collections.

In terms of average USD price, on January 3, average price of collection SUPER FREAK reached 47.7K USD, which was highest average price in 2022.

Conclusions and findings

Milady333 collection tokens with 1100% price growth compared to beginning of the year have been most profitable for buyers who bought these tokens in first month of 2022.

Milady333 collection on April 11 has grown by 11480% compared to beginning of the year

That is, if you had invested 9K USD on this collection at beginning of the year, you could be a millionaire by selling it on April 11.
