Daily Active Users (DAUs) is a critical metric to gauge the health, engagement, and growth of a protocol. DAUs represent the number of unique addresses interacting with the network on a given day, providing insight into how often users engage with decentralized applications (dApps), perform transactions, or participate in key activities like staking, trading, and minting NFTs.
For this dashboard, we are applying a specific criterion to enhance the reliability of DAU metrics on the Aptos blockchain. Instead of considering any user interaction, we focus on users active for at least 4 days within a week, ensuring we capture the most engaged participants, often referred to as "power users." This approach allows us to filter out occasional or one-time users, providing a clearer picture of sustained activity.
This dashboard is divided into several sections, each highlighting DAU activity across key categories on Aptos:
1. Aptos General DAUs: This section tracks general activity across the entire Aptos blockchain, capturing how many unique users are actively interacting with the network on a daily basis.
2. Aptos Actions: Here, we break down the DAU metrics by specific on-chain actions, such as token transfers, votes, swaps, and liquidity management. By segmenting user activity based on function, we can identify which use cases drive the most engagement.
3. Aptos NFTs: In this section, we focus on the vibrant NFT ecosystem on Aptos, tracking DAUs who are minting, buying, or selling NFTs. This provides insights into user interest in digital collectibles and the performance of various NFT projects.
4. Aptos DEX Activity: Decentralized exchanges (DEXs) are a critical component of any blockchain. This section measures DAUs interacting with Aptos-based DEXs, highlighting user participation in token swaps and liquidity provision.
