    Distinct Wallets (Optimism Bridge)

    Many blockchain bridges exist allowing users to move assets between different blockchains. One of the blockchains currently receiving a lot of bridge volume is Optimism. There are several bridges you can use to move tokens to Optimism, but for this bounty we are particularly interested in Optimism’s bridge. In this dashboard we are gonna track the number of deposits and removers over the past 60 days on Optimism.

    Introduction and methods

    Optimism is a Layer 2 Optimistic Rollup network designed to utilize the strong security guarantees of Ethereum while reducing its cost and latency.

    The platform is designed around four core tenets: Simplicity, Pragmatism, Sustainability and Optimism. Optimism aims for the minimum number of moving parts while building a layer-two solution for Ethereum. In practice, this means using proven Ethereum code and infrastructure when possible. Optimism thus aims to keep its code as simple as possible and work directly with existing codebases.

    In this dashboard we are gonna explore te number of depositors and withdrawers to Optimism over the past 2 months.

    A total of 47.2k of wallets deposited on Optimism over the past 60 days, while 480 removed ETH there.

    It can be clearly seen how the amount of ETH depositors started to grow during and after the depegging event of UST on Terra. However, a big increased were detected on June 1st where the amount of daily depositors spiked to almost 20k! However, it returned to the previous values. Instead, the amount of removers remained constant over time.

    Conclusions and key insights

    In this dashboard we are tracked the depositors and removers of ETH on Optimism. We have concluded the following:

    • More thank 47k distinct wallets deposited ETH on Optimisms over the past 60 days, while 480 removed it.
    • It can be clearly seen how the amount of ETH depositors started to grow during and after the depegging event of UST on Terra.
    • The amount of removers remained constant over time.
