Introduction and methods

MetaMask is a web browser extension or plugin that allows users to easily interact with dApps on the Ethereum blockchain. This is possible, because MetaMask acts as a bridge between dApps and web browsers, facilitating the use and enjoyment of them. Thanks to this, users are able to easily use these distributed applications and everything in an integrated way from their favorite browser. With support for Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Brave, MetaMask has brought the world of dApps closer to the general public.

In this dashboard we are gonna explore the most common transactions done by Metamask users. The idea is to track the distribution of transactions by type of event and the distribution of platform transactions.

Results

In this first donut, we can see the most common transactions done by Metamask users. Among the different transactions done, the most common ones are transfers, approvals, swaps, syncs, deposits, withdrawals and orders.

Transfers have been the most popular ones so far with around 27% of the total transactions.

On the other hand, looking at the platforms used by Metamask users, we can see that there is a more heterogeneous list. In general, there are 3 top platforms used:

• Uniswap
• Hop protocol
• Opensea

The first one represents 18% of the total transactiions and the other two around 10%. There is a big difference between these three platforms and the rest like the main Metamask, Sushiswap, ENS, Strong Block, Axie Inifinty or AAVE that are the ones that appear next in the top list.

Conclusions and insights

In this dashboard we have explored the most common transactions on Metamask. We have concluded the following things:

• Among the different transactions done, the most common ones are transfers, approvals, swaps, syncs, deposits, withdrawals and orders.
• Transfers have been the most popular ones so far with around 27% of the total transactions.
• There are 3 top platforms used: Uniswap, Hop protocol and Opensea-
