Star Atlas AI integration

This dashboard is about the AI integration in Star Atlas gaming project not only analyzing key aspects and potentials but also comparing its activity against some other major gaming projects.

    Overview

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with blockchain-based protocols or dApps has the potential to revolutionize various industries, and Solana blockchains is no exception. This blockchain has seen rapid growth and adoption in recent years, and various protocols and dApps have been built on top of it, leveraging its unique features and benefits. In this dashboard, we will explore how AI is being used in one such dApp on Solana blockchain.

More concretely, we are gonna take an overview of the Star Atlas dApp, built on the Solana blockchain and its AI integration. Star Atlas is a futuristic massively multiplayer online game that utilizes blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to create a unique gaming experience. The game is set in space and offers players various opportunities to explore, conquer, and trade in a vast virtual universe.

    AI Integration

Star Atlas uses AI technology in several ways to enhance the gaming experience for its players. One of the most notable use cases of AI in Star Atlas is the game's dynamic economy system. The game's economy is powered by a machine learning algorithm that analyzes various data points, such as player behaviors, market trends, and supply-demand dynamics, to dynamically adjust the prices of in-game assets and resources. This allows for a more realistic and responsive economic system that is more closely aligned with the players' actions and behaviors.

In addition, Star Atlas uses AI algorithms to create intelligent non-playable characters that can interact with players in various ways. These NPCs can provide useful information, offer missions and quests, or act as adversaries in the game. The use of AI in creating these NPCs allows for a more immersive and engaging gaming experience.

    Main Benefits:

Firstly, the dynamic economy system in Star Atlas is powered by AI algorithms that monitor and adjust in-game prices based on supply and demand, as well as player actions. This means that as players engage in trade, exploration, and other activities within the game, the virtual economy responds in real-time to maintain a stable and balanced system. The AI also identifies potential market imbalances and implements measures to prevent inflation or deflation, keeping the game's economy healthy and sustainable over time.

Furthermore, the intelligent NPCs in Star Atlas are designed to provide a more immersive and personalized gaming experience. These non-playable characters (NPCs) are equipped with AI that enables them to analyze player behavior and respond in a way that is tailored to each individual player's preferences and style of play. For example, NPCs can offer unique quests, rewards, or dialogue options based on a player's past actions, creating a more engaging and dynamic game world.

In addition to these benefits, AI technology can also enhance other aspects of the game, such as gameplay mechanics, graphics, and sound design. For instance, AI algorithms can be used to optimize game performance, detect and prevent cheating, or generate more realistic and lifelike animations and effects.

    Potential Risks or Limitations:

The integration of AI in gaming has the potential to enhance player experiences, but it also poses some risks and limitations that developers need to address. For instance, there is a risk of bias or over-reliance on AI algorithms, which can lead to unintended consequences or unfair treatment of players.

However, the developers of Star Atlas have taken proactive steps to mitigate these concerns. They have ensured that the AI algorithms used in the game are transparent and auditable, which means that players can understand how the AI makes decisions and can check for any biases or errors. This transparency also helps build trust between players and the game developers, which is crucial for maintaining a healthy player base.

Moreover, the developers have limited the use of AI in Star Atlas to specific use cases, such as the game's economy system and NPCs. They have avoided using AI to make critical decisions that impact the game's balance or fairness, ensuring that human oversight remains a key aspect of the game's design. This approach not only reduces the risk of unintended consequences but also allows players to feel more in control of their gaming experience.

Comparing Star Atlas against other gaming projects on Solana

In comparing Star Atlas to another gaming projects on Solana that does not use AI, we can see the significant advantages that AI brings to the gaming experience. Without AI, the game's economy system would likely be less responsive and more prone to market manipulation. Similarly, the NPCs in the game will bring other features that current games doesn't have. But... are these features influencing gamers? Let's see some on-chain data to contrast this!

Looking at the first charts, we can see the evolution of transactions executed in Solana using each of the platforms mentioned. As can be seen, it seems that each has had its moment in the ecosystem in which many users used it. During late 2021 and early 2022, Aurory was the most used platform par excellence, also because it was the first of its kind to be launched. However, its activity started to drop a few months after the start of 2022. Then, in April 2022, genopets came out, which boomed from then until 3 months later and replaced Aurory's activity. But this also subsided until October, when Star Atlas was released. In this case, the impact was brutal and transactions surged towards an ATH surpassing both Aurory and Genopets.

Something similar has happened with the number of active users; as projects have been released, the number of users has risen again. However, we see that the peak monthly user numbers are getting lower and lower. Thus, there have been more users using Aurory than the other platforms. Something similar happens with the number of new users entering the platforms.

A curious fact is the average number of transactions per user. In the case of Aurory and Genopets it seems that they have been executing a similar number of transactions around 2 per user, but since the irruption of StarAtlas, this number has increased in both platforms. But the number on Star Atlas has shot up to over 10 transactions per user!

Finally, as far as the fees generated are concerned, we can see that they have increased a lot since November, when Star Atlas came into play, and that it has overtaken the other platforms in a short time, reaching ATHs.

To make a good and fair comparison, we are gonna compare Star Atlas against two other major Solana gaming projects: Genopets and Aurory. On the one hand, Genopets is a free-to-play video game based on the Solana blockchain, in which your daily movements serve to strengthen your virtual pet, a randomly generated NFT, but influenced by the way you are. As this game encourages your activity, taking care of your genopet is taking care of yourself. On the other hand, Aurory is an NFT game built on Solana's blockchain, in a JRPG style. It is based on the development of pets, known as nefties, with which you fight in turn-based tactical fights. Both pets and avatars (aurorians) are NFTs that can be bought and sold.

Then, looking at the main activity of each dApp, we can see how AI really plays a big role in Star Atlas generating a higher increase on the activity in comparison to Genopets and Aurory. It is cleat that AI is creating a huge mass adoption.

    Final conclusion

Upon analyzing the primary activity of each decentralized application (dApp), it becomes evident that AI plays a substantial role in Star Atlas, resulting in a significant increase in user activity compared to Genopets and Aurory. This finding highlights the significant impact that AI has on mass adoption within the blockchain industry.

Furthermore, upon conducting a comprehensive comparison between the three projects, it can be concluded that Star Atlas outperforms Genopets and Aurory in all aspects of activity. Therefore, if one were to choose a project to participate in, Star Atlas would be the most promising option.

Overall, AI is becoming increasingly important in the blockchain industry and will continue to play a significant role in the development of decentralized applications in the future. Bounty hunters and investors alike should take note of the impact that AI has on dApp performance when considering which projects to support or invest in.
