Introduction and methods

Osmosis is a network, developed through the Cosmos SDK (software development kit), using the infrastructure provided by this giant, which seeks to be a bridge between the different blockchains of this ecosystem. In addition, it provides service to projects connected through the Interblockchain Communication Protocol (IBC).

In this dashboard we are gonna explore the number of unique active wallets that interact on Osmosis in a daily basis. As well, we will track the change over time and the largest event that has brought the most wallet activity to Osmosis.

Results

It is clear that the activity on Osmosis increased during the past months. In fact, the major growth took place from January 2022 to March 2022. It seems like since the end of that period, the number of users decreased.

If we take a look at the second chart, we can see that there is a huge variability on the active users daily change. Then, it cannot be determined anything about it. It is better to try to plot another chart with more relevant information like below.

Considering this last chart, we can see the major peaks in daily active users increment. If we take into account those increments above 10%, then we can find 4 major events:

• June 20th 2021: The Osmosis mainnet launch
• February 16th 2022: The @cosmos ecosystem is heating up and is now #2 by TVL behind Ethereum.
• April 23rd 2022: Canonical Ethereum bridge proposal
• June 6th 2022: v9 Nitrogen Upgrade

• Unique users on Osmosis increased during the first quarter of 2022, however it decreased over the past months.
• The daily change depends on the day. There have been determined 4 main events that contributed to the growth of Osmosis: the mainnet launch, the Cosmos integration, the Ethereum bridge and the Nitrogen upgrade.
