Take a deep dive into the ETH merge and switch to POS with this Open Analytics Bounty. This is a chance to explore the topic without any specific prompt, just a direction and a reward. It’s your chance to have your brain follow your heart — got a spark of interest, or a loose thread, or a weirdly-specific question gnawing at the back of your mind? Follow it as far as you can!
Average block time before the Merge is 0.241 and average block time after the Merge is 0.203 which is lowered 0.038 after the Merge so Merge is responsible for decreasing of average time periods between two blocks.
Also as shown on pie chart above average block time after the Merge lowered 8.6% compared to average block time before the Merge
On bar chart above we can see more easily difference of average block time before and after the Merge.
Before the Merge we see several significant spikes with over all decreasing trend but after the Merge trend is steady without and significant detectable spikes.
Average transactions of block time before the Merge is 110.1 and average transactions of block time after the Merge is 166.7 which is added 56.5 after the Merge so Merge is responsible for increasing of average transactions between two blocks.
Also as shown on pie chart above average transactions of block time after the Merge added 20.4% compared to average block time before the Merge.
On bar chart above we can see more easily difference of average block time before and after the Merge.
Before the Merge we see several significant spikes with over all increasing trend but after the Merge trend is slightly decreasing without and significant detectable spikes.
Conclusion
In this work, we analysed the ETH merge and switch to POS with this Open Analytics Bounty. And here are some findings as below:
- Average block time before the Merge is 0.241 and average block time after the Merge is 0.203 which is lowered 0.038 after the Merge so Merge is responsible for decreasing of average time periods between two blocks.
- Average transactions of block time before the Merge is 110.1 and average transactions of block time after the Merge is 166.7 which is added 56.5 after the Merge so Merge is responsible for increasing of average transactions between two blocks.
This dashboard showed us that average time between two blocks decreased after the merge and average transactions between two blocks increased after the merge. this also is visible on daily charts.
