Solana Staking Madness
How has staking pool behavior on Solana responded to recent events?
What Is Solana?
On the face of it, Solana is simply a public blockchain network that allows smart contracts to run on it. This is much like Ethereum, but the devil is in the details, and Solana’s design of a single network that permits high throughput with low fees is what is stirring up headlines.
Solana calls itself the fastest blockchain in the world, a claim that some other Ethereum competitors may want to challenge, but it’s certainly high up there in terms of scalability. At present, the Solana blockchain has a transaction rate of approximately 2,700 transactions per second at an average transaction cost of $0.00025. The potential throughput lies at a whopping 50,000 transactions per second, far surpassing most available decentralized smart contract networks. For example, this is magnitudes higher than Ethereum, which has a transaction rate of 10–15 transactions per second at gas fees that can often exceed $200-$300+.
Solana was conceived in late 2017 by Anatoly Yakovenko, who designed a new mechanism that would result in much better network performance than previous distributed ledger iterations. His discovery allowed for automatically ordered transactions, rapid settlement times, and compatibility with all LLVM smart contract languages.
But there was a long period between its initial conception and its mainnet beta launch, which occurred in Q1 2020. In that intervening period, it saw multiple fundraising rounds, with investors including some of the biggest in the ecosystem, such as Andreessen Horowitz, Polychain Capital, Alameda Research, and CoinShares. Of course, all of this has led to people googling such things as “Solana coin price” or “Solana crypto price.” That’s unsurprising, given how much of a buzz the project is creating.

Question
How has staking pool behavior on Solana responded to recent events?
Analyze Flipside's new staking pools data to analyze staking behavior in the Solana ecosystem over the past week. How are stakers responding to recent events? Have there been any notable inflows or outflows to staking pools? What staking pools have seen the most notable behavior? Can you link any staking behavior to other defi activity or other accounts on Solana?
observations
- The chart on the left is the price of Solana for the last ten days on a daily basis, as you can see before the flow of the ftx exchange we saw a relative increase in the price of Solana, but at the same time we saw a sharp drop in the price from $39 to $16 today.
- At the lowest price in some hours, the price reached 11 dollars.
Observations
- The graphs in this section are related to the volume of Solana swapped in the last week.
- As can be seen, the swap volume has increased since November 8 and reached its highest level on November 9, and then decreased twice.
- The red graph is the swap volume from Solana to other currencies, and the blue graph is the swap of other currencies to Solana.
- In total, the swap of Solana to other currencies in the last seven days was more than the swap of other currencies to Solana.
- total from sol swap vol 10.5 M sol
- total to sol swap vol 9.82M sol
Observations
- The graphs in this section are related to the Number of Solana swap & Swapper in the last week.
- As can be seen, the Number of swap & swapper has increased since November 8 and reached its highest level on November 10, and then decreased twice
- The red graph is the number of swap & swapper from Solana to other currencies, and the blue graph is the number of swap & swapper of other currencies to Solana.
- Unlike the volume of swap, the amount of conversion of other currencies into Solana is more than the conversion of Solana into other currencies. Regarding the number of swaps and the number of swappers, the number of conversions of other currencies into Solana is more than the conversion of Solana into other currencies.
- Total Swaps & swapper from sol < Total Swaps & Swapper to sol
Observations
- The top left graph is Solana's volume for each activity over the past seven days.
- As it can be seen, the largest volume is related to Withdraw (Unstake) . In second place is receiving the reward stake, in third place is Solana's stake.
- This means not trusting Solana and leaving and selling Solana.
- The top right chart shows the number of transactions and users for each activity. In total, the highest number of users and the number of transactions is related to Withdraw (Unstake).
Observations
- This section is related to the number of users and the number of transactions and the volume of Solana in each stake pool.
- In terms of the number of users and the number of transactions, the largest number is related to the Marinade stake pool, and the second place is the Lido stake pool.
- But regarding the volume of Solana, the largest amount is related to the lido stake pool and the volume of Solana Unstake.
- Total User in Marinade = 1863 User total transaction in Marinade = 3058 TX
- Lido volume 1.96 M Sol --- Unstake 1.86 M sol --- Stake 78 K sol
- Marinade 1.270 M sol --- Claim 1M sol
Observations
- The first graph on the left is related to the volume of Solana stake daily in the last seven days by each stake pool, the highest stake volume is on November 8, during these seven days, the highest volume of Solana staked per day is related to the marinade stake pool.
- The chart above shows the number of stakes in the last seven days.
- The highest number of stake is on November 9.
- the largest number of stake is related to the marinade pool.
- The graph on the left shows the number of stakers in the past seven days. The highest number is on November 8.
- Then after that we see a decrease in the number of stakers. The largest number of stakers is related to the marinade pool.
- total volume sol stake is 304 K sol
- total stake is 2440
- total staker 1047
Observations
- In this section, we see the number and volume of sol stake and the number of Solana stakers in the last seven days in each stake pool.
- For all three options, the marinade stake pool is at the top of the stake with 1013 Stake and 519 Staker and volume 204 K sol
- In the second place of the stake pool is Lido pool with 756 Stake and 484 Staker and volume 78 K sol
- In the third place of the stake pool is Jpool pool with 456 Stake and 34 Staker and volume 16.7 K sol
- As we can see, Marinade pool has played the main role in this stake.
Observations
-
The first graph on the left is related to the volume of Solana unstake daily in the last seven days by each stake pool, the highest stake volume is on November 10th, during these seven days, the highest volume of Solana unstaked per day is related to the LIDO stake pool.
-
The chart above shows the number of unstakes in the last seven days.
-
The highest number of unstake is on November 10.
-
the largest number of unstake is related to the LIDO pool.
-
The graph on the left shows the number of stakers in the past seven days. The highest number is on November 10.
-
Then after that we see a decrease in the number of stakers. The largest number of unstakers is related to the LIDO pool.
-
total volume sol unstake is 2.15Msol
-
total unstake is 3180
-
total unstaker is 1466
\
Observations
- In this section, we see the number and volume of sol Unstake and the number of Solana Unstakers in the last seven days in each stake pool.
- for the number of unstake , lido pool is first Rank with 11429 and second Rank is Marinade with 1153 and third Rank is cocean pool with 285
- for the number of unstaker , Marinade pool is first Rank with 778 and second Rank is Lido with 749 and third Rank is Jpool pool with 36
- for the Volume sol of unstake , Lido pool is first Rank with 1.89M sol and second Rank is Jpool with 196K sol and third Rank is cocean pool with 16.7K sol
- As we can see, Lido pool has played the main role in this Unstake.
conclusion
- overall At the same time as the FTX exchange dropped, we saw the price of the Solana token drop.
- So that the price went from 39 dollars to 11 dollars.
- Simultaneously with this event, we saw an increase in the number and volume of swaps in the Solana network, where the total amount of Solana swapped to other currencies is greater than the total amount of swaps of other currencies to Solana.
- During this period, we see the increase of Solana stake and Unstake in Solana pools.
- The important thing is that in the last week, the total number of Solana UnStaked is more than 8 times that of Solana Staked.
- In the end, the negative impact of these changes on Solana network has been more than many other networks. In fact, this is considered a negative point for the network.
- As we can see, Lido pool has played the main role in this Unstake.
- As we can see, Marinade pool has played the main role in this stake.
