    Introduction

Mango DAO Offers Hacker $47M to Settle Without Pressing Charges

The hacker stole over $100 million in crypto from the Mango Markets Exchange on Tuesday, and may get to keep almost half of it.

A governance proposal seeking to pay up to $47 million to the Mango Markets hacker is set to be approved as it reaches an approval quorum of over 96%.

Following the Mango Markets hack of Oct. 12, the hacker submitted a proposal asking the project to use up to $70 million from its treasury to repay some bad debts. He agreed to return the funds upon meeting his terms.

In response, the project team created a proposal on Oct. 14, seeking to come to terms with the hacker. As per the proposal, the hacker will return up to $67 million and keep the remaining $47 million as a bug bounty.

    Analysis :

    • But regarding the amount and number of Solana's Stakers , as can be seen, there is no significant change in the number of stakers, that is, there has been neither a decrease nor a sharp increase. But regarding the number of stak transactions, on the day of the hacking of our system, we have seen a multifold increase in transactions. Once again, we had a sudden sharp increase on October 13.

    conclusion :

    • Finally, it can be said that the Mango system hack has had the greatest impact on its platform, it has caused the value of the token to decrease to half the price, it has reduced the amount of investment in the project, and it has caused users to distrust the Mango platform.
    • But in terms of the effect on the whole Solana network, it can be said that it has not had a big negative impact on Solana and the network has continued to work with strength.

    Analysis :

    • The above graphs are related to centralized exchanges, as it can be seen that after the hacking of the Mango system on October 11th, the number and volume of transactions related to Solana has increased relatively in all exchanges, in fact, the amount of input and output of Solana to the exchanges It has increased.

    Analysis :

    • As you can see, in the first two charts, we see the number of users and the number of Solana swaps. As you can see, after hacking the Mango system, we have been facing an increase in the number of users and swaps.
    • The next chart is related to the price of Mango on a daily basis. After hacking the Mango system, we see the price of the Mango token reduced by half.

    Analysis :

    • The chart above is related to the total number of Solana transactions, in total we see a decrease in the number of transactions after the hacking of the Mango system. We have seen this decrease in transactions across all platforms.
