AAVE AIP Voting Analysis

    Over the past weekend, two necessary, non-contentious votes failed to meet the 320,000 quorum threshold. This dashboard visualizes recent voting with a focus on when votes are starting and occurring. All data is from 2022 voting history.

    We clearly see in chart #1 that the majority of recent proposals have started votes on a weekday, and either ended on a weekday or weekend.

    If we look at the success rate per voting period type (chart #2), we see that proposals that start on a weekday, but end on a weekend, have a 22% failure rate. This compares to a 10% failure rate for proposals that end on the weekend.

    Key Point: Votes that end on a weekday have a 10% failure rate, compared to a 22% failure rate when the vote ends on a weekend.

    Chart #3 breaks down when different voting power groups like to vote. Small wallets (less than 50 voting power), vote the most on weekends at 36% of the time. Whales (10k+ voting power), however, vote the least on weekends at 16% of the time.

    Chart #4 shows the percentage of total votes by group and vote day. Whales (10k+ voting power) account for ~98% of the total voting power. 84% of total votes since 1/1/22 have come from Whales on a weekday. Only 14% of whale votes occurred on a weekend.

    Key Point: 84% of votes from Aave Whales (those with 10k+ voting power) have come on a weekday, representing 84% of the total votes.
