Definitions

• Swap count - We count all swaps regardless of multiple swaps in the same transaction.
• Sizing - There are six sizes for both USD and RUNE as units which are: (0, 10], (10, 100], (100, 1k], (1k, 10k], (10k, 100k], and (100k, ∞). While (x, y] is more than x and less or equal to y.

Parameter

• show_past_months: Number of past months includes in this dashboard. Note that the analysis is based on the default value (24), which includes all months in the database.
• pool_name: Pool name will be included in the selected pool swap information section.

Methodology

To show the comprehensive swap information analysis on the Thorchain. We divide is dashboard into three sections, including

1. All pools swap information

   1. Swaps overview (count, volume, and daily average).
   2. Overall swap distribution by swap volume size.
   3. Weekly swap information by swap volume size.

2. Overall swap information break down by pools

   1. Total swap volume for each pool
   2. Swap volume size distribution for each pool

3. Selected pool swap information

   1. Weekly swap count by swap size
   2. Total and weekly swap volume by swaps size

All pools swap information

Swaps overview

• There are around 5M swaps on the Thorchain, which is an 11.53k daily swap count on average.
• The total USD swap volumes are almost 12B USD and 2.7B RUNE, which are 27M USD, and 6M RUNE daily swap volumes on average, respectively.

The graphs above show the swap count distribution based on swap volume sizing by USD

• Around 2.6M swaps, which is more than half of the swap count, are (1k, 10k] USD.
• Followed by (100, 1k] USD swaps of around 43%, in a total of 2.2M swaps.
• There are 2.5k swaps or 0.05% of the total swaps in which the volume are higher than $100k

• Around 3.5M swaps, which is nearly 70% of the swap count, are (100, 1k] RUNE.
• There are only 52 swaps in which the volume are higher than 100k RUNE.

• The weekly swap count has tended to be higher since March 2022.
• The percentage of (1k, 10k] USD size has increased from around 50% to 70% from March 2022 to May 2022.

Pool break down

Overall swap volume for each pool

• BNB.BUSD, BTC.BTC, and ETH.ETH are the highest three swap volume pools. Especially for BNB.BUSD, which is the only pool that can reach 4B USD (37.7%), and 1B RUNE (38.4%) swap volume
• The lowest swap volume pool is BNB.CAS has only 89k USD and 10k RUNE swap volume.

• The two main portions of the distribution are (100, 1k] USD and (1k, 10k] USD.
• ETH.ETH pool has the highest (100k, inf) swap USD volume count (994), followed by BTC.BTC (719) from 25k counts.

• The main portion of the distribution is (100, 1k] RUNE.
• ETH.ETH pool has the highest (100k, inf) swap RUNE volume count (24), followed by BTC.BTC (16) from 52 counts.

Conclusion

• There are around 5M swaps on the Thorchain, which is an 11.53k daily swap count on average. The total USD swap volumes are almost 12B USD or 2.7B RUNE.
• More than 90% of the total swap count is (100, 10k] USD swap volume.
• Around 3.5M swaps, nearly 70% of the swap count, are (100, 1k] RUNE which is the main proportion of swaps by RUNE size.
• The weekly swap count has tended to be higher since March 2022.
