FLOW Usage During the NBA Playoffs
Each bar on the graph on the left depicts the daily transaction count on Flow, while the black line represents the daily average transaction count for before, during, and after the NBA Conference Finals respectively.
- The number of transaction counts on FLOW shows a decreasing trend for each period.
- The primary activity on FLOW is the NFT sales.
- The decrease in NFT sales transaction count impacts the overall transaction count on FLOW.
- The Final period has no notable effect on overall Flow activities.
The graph on the left shows the top 3 collection sales volume percentages from all collection sales volume
- The percentages of the top3 nearly reach 95% of the total sale volume.
- Thus the top 3 can represent the trend of all Flow NFTs.
The graph on the right shows the total sale volume (USD) for each collection on flow
- There are only three outstanding bars which are TopShot, AllDay, and UFC_NFT with 31M, 15.1M, and 3.6M total sale volume respectively.
To determine the effect of the Final period on the TopShot sales volume, we compare the TopShot sales volume with AllDay and UFC_NFT as described below
The graph on the left shows the daily sales volume percentage from the top 3 sales volume
- There is no increase in the proportion of TopShot sales volume during the Final period.
- Although there is no positive change in the Final period, the TopShot is the only collection that can sale in Jun 16th - Jun 22th period.
- From the sales volumes percentage point of view, we assume that the Final period has no effect on TopShot sales volume.
The graph on the left shows the daily sales volume of the top 3 NFT projects on the Flow chain.
- As we can see, there is no sales spike on the TopShot during the Final period.
- In addition, the sales volume of TopShot gradually decreases as happens with the other collection.
- On the other hand, there are two sales spikes in the AllDay collection. One is in the Final period and the another is not.
- From a sales volume point of view, we assume that the Final period has no effect on TopShot sales volume.
The graph on the left shows the daily sales transaction counts of the top 3 collections on flow.
- The TopShot sales transaction count shows a similar trend to the sales volume in that the number of sales transaction gradually decrease and there is no positive spike during the Final period
- From the sales volume, sales volume percentage, and sales transaction count information, we conclude that the Final period has no effect on TopShot sales volume.
Not only the total sales volume, but the two graphs above also show daily sales volume and sales transaction counts of the Final 4 vs. the rest.
-
Before the Final period, the Final 4 is always under the rest in both measures.
-
Both sales volume and sales counts of the Final 4 are more comparable with the rest since the start of the Final period.
Two graphs on the left depict the all-time and during the Final period total sales volume of each team in the NBA Top Shot collection marking the top five sales volume team for each period
- From the all-time period, the top 5 are Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, and Toronto Raptor.
- From the Final period, the top 5 changed to Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, and Memphis Grizzlies.
- Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat are the Final 4 teams in the Final period.
- Three of the Final 4 teams except for the Miami Heat are usually have sales volume.
- Golden State Warrior is always the top sales volume team.
- The Final period boosts the Final 4 teams' sales volume to become the top 4 sales volume teams in the Final period.
We also show the breakdown of the Final 4 teams on both measures with the average over each period as a black line.
- The Final period raises the sales volume and number of sales transactions of the Final 4 teams up notably.
- Even after the Final period, the sales volume and number of sales transactions of the Final 4 teams are higher than before the Final period.
The graph on the left shows the ratio between the Final 4 and the rest total sales volume for each period, while the graph on the right shows the total sales transaction count in the same manner.
- The Final period can raise both sales volume and transaction count of the Final 4 not only during but also after the period too.
Conclusion
-
The number of transaction counts on FLOW shows a decreasing trend for each period.
-
The primary activity on FLOW is the NFT sales.
-
The Final period has no notable effect on overall Flow activities.
-
From the sales volume, sales volume percentage, and sales transaction count information in NFT sales, we cannot see the impact of the Final period on overall TopShot sales volume.
-
The Final period can raise both sales volume and transaction count of the Final 4 not only during but also after the period too.
