This analysis examines Uniswap's token trading activity across various chains and protocol versions. The following steps were followed:
Data Collection: The analysis leverages trading data from Uniswap v2 and v3 across multiple chains, using datasets from Flipside. This covers Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Avalanche, and Optimism.
Token Trading Metrics:
Unique Tokens Traded: Analyzed the growth in the unique tokens traded on Uniswap, identifying any notable spikes in activity.
Token Pair Popularity: Evaluated the most common token pairs across different chains and how these pairs have evolved.
Multi-Chain Comparison: Compared token popularity and activity across chains, focusing on new and old tokens.
New Tokens: Assessed the rate of new tokens swapped between chains to highlight the variety and volume of new assets entering the market.
Token Lifespan Analysis:
Categorized tokens based on their trading activity, categorizing tokens with trades in the last 30 days as ACTIVE and without trades in the past 30 days as INACTIVE.
Measured the lifespan of tokens by analyzing their first and last trade and classifying them into short-term, Medium-term, long-term, and Very long-term lifespans.
This methodology allowed for a comprehensive overview of token trading dynamics on Uniswap, including multi-chain variations, token longevity, and pair popularity.
