BasePaint Art Adventure
On-chain innovation is probably experiencing its most flourishing times thanks to Base network π΅ Every now and then, you hear about a wonderful project which is not another fork of a well-known dApp and it attracts people and brings users to actively participate in a new era of decentralized activities. BasePaint is yet another wonderful project with an amazing idea, exceptionally executed, and shipping toward mass adoption! Do you want to know what is BasePaint about? Read this fully data driven article to position yourself to one of the most potential opportunities of Web3 and crypto industry.
π BasePaint provides a pixelated screen for everyone to participate in drawing a themed painting. This goes beyond saying how this resonates with Web3 soul and passion. We all love to leave an on-chain trace of ourselves, but what better way than painting it on a community-produced artwork!?
And it gets even better! You get rewarded for your share of pixels. You ask how?
After 24 hours of group work, the canvas gets locked and it goes to public mint for 0.0026 ETH and all the earnings goes to painters based on their pixel share of the final artwork!
To clarify it more, letβs say for an artwork 10000 pixels were painted and after public mint 2 ETH was collected; In this case a painter with a 100 pixel brush would get 1 percent of mint money which is 0.02 ETH
But I advice you not to see this as an opportunity to earn! We are here to have fun together and produce exceptional communal artwork!
Notice that the mint only continues for 24 hours and after that you can only buy the artwork from secondary markets like Opensea
π Grab it while you can, so you won't regret it later!
π To get to paint the pixels you should have a Brush π, which you have three ways to aquire:
- If you are an artist apply for a brush with your provided portfolio
- be active in chat, help people design the canvas by sharing your suggested art; there are community members who have invites that can give away!
- Buy one from secondary! (make sure it's not flagged)
Every regular brush gives you 100 pixels to paint. Community suggests various themes based on the provided pallet and people with BasePaint canvases are eligible to vote for their preferred theme. Then people start to paint the pixels with a few collors for the next 24 hours π¨. There is chat box to communicate and help eachother to paint the best artwork. Even if someone paints over another pixel, it doesn't affect the presence of previous pixel and its artist's share of final mint earning.
This is a Data-driven dashboard to introduce BasePaint to broader Web3 audience
The dashboard basically contains everything you need to know about basepaint including:
official links, Brush & canvas mint stats, Opensea sales, Interactive tools for looking up contributors, Earnings and all the information you need to decide whether or not you want to be part of this amazing community and best ways to do so!
π’ There is also a tab for persian speaking audience. I am wiling to add other languages if anyone volenteers to write about BasePaint in their native language for their community π’
π§ A few notes of validity and correctness of provided data:
- Data is obtained by using FlipsideCrypto data tables for Base network, which is in turn extracted from Blockchain directly
- There are some complexity regarding brush types since team is able to upgrade and nerf their strength (Pixel count). I've tried to include them too but do not rely solely on what you see here and double check on Opensea too
- First mints seem to be kind of experimental with odd strength like 1 & 20. I recommend you to ignore them and double check on Opensea
-
Painting each artwork is a communal effort, but there are bad actors who tend to destroy other people hard work. These vandals get banned and their brushes gets nerfed and can't be used anymore.
-
Play carefully by the rules, respect other people time and effort and communicate with them before painting any pixel
-
when buying brushes from Opensea pay attention if the listed brush is flagged or not
-
Be a helping community member and honest creative painter and you might get a brush upgrade

π€ Communal art creation has a complex place in history of art. Bringing this debatable practice to onchain world is actually very important. Ontologically speaking, the very fact that there are multiple painters on a given virtual place makes Basepaint-produced artworks important historically.
π§ This has the potential to be a token-gated hub for many communities of selected artists and scale to a degree that invents a new form of art making.
π€ Imagine being Co-painter with a famous artist, or someone like Vitalik.eth! How much do you think the art will worth then?!
BasePaint is already om its way to day #300!
