SOLANA: Network Performance Dashboard

The data below will show how the network performed over the past month compared to the rest of the year, the transaction per second and success rates of transactions, the total amount of unique users per month, and what wallets and programs have paid the most in fees for failed transactions?

The chart beside shows the total transaction success and failure rate since January 2022. We could see that there are 4.38 B (34.2%) of failed transactions and 8.44 B (65.8%) of successful transactions. This somehow shows us that the network performance for the whole year is not at an excellent condition but it is still acceptable.

From both of the charts above, we could understand how is condition or performance of the Solana network in recent months. Before we go into the analysis, I would like to exclude the month of July from our analysis scope, this is because the month of July hasn’t ended. If we look at the success rate from the month of January to March, it is within the range of 76% - 79%. Besides that, from January until March, the TPS also increased linearly from 1 B to 1.32 B. At this period of time, we could see that the Solana network is very stable. But the success rate drops to 59% in the month of April and at the same time, the TPS also drop from 1.32 B to 904 M. This shows that the network is unhealthy because it is unable to handle low TPS. Then it drops to 53% in the month of May because during this time the TPS rises to 1.2 B. From May to June is where the changes begin, the TPS rises from 1.2 B to 1.9 B and at the same time, the success rate rises from 53% to 61%. One of the reasons is probably the number of users on the network.

From the results above, we could see that the number of users drop from 44.93 M to 29.75 M. This is probably one of the factors contributing to the increase in success rate.

Now, let's take a look at the programs that paid the highest fee for failed transactions. The first place goes to Pyth Oracle with 3.1 K SOL. Follow with Serum Dex V3 with 1.9 K SOL, Jupiter Agg V2 with 1.6 K SOL, System Program with 912 SOL, and Switchboard Oracle with 431 SOL.

    Conclusion

In conclusion, I would say the network performance is increased slightly over the past month. But I would say the data right now is not enough to judge that it is completely back to the best condition ever. It still has to be further observed.
