What is CryptoPunks?

In the middle of 2017, CryptoPunks was released with a predetermined set of 10,000 items, which later served as one of the inspirations for the ERC-721 standard. They have been highlighted in publications such as The New York Times, Christie's of London, Art Basel Miami, and The PBS NewsHour, amongst others. Along with other early initiatives such as CryptoKitties, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and the sale of Beeple's Everydays: The First 5000 Days, CryptoPunks are widely regarded with kicking off the NFT mania that occurred in 2021. Both the V1 contract and the V2 contract include a total of 10,000 CryptoPunk tokens each. They fetch greater prices on the open market as a direct result of their scarcity and exclusive nature, and they have been known to be sold through auction houses such as Christie's. An unknown user made a contribution of CryptoPunk #5364 to the Ethereum wallet public address used by the Ukrainian government on March 2, 2022. This contribution was made to assist the Ukrainian government in raising funds to fight the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Top 10 wallets are the most successful Cryptopunk traders

The chart on the left displays top 10 wallets with the biggest number of held Punks.

• 0xa858ddc0445d8131dac4d1de01f834ffcba52ef1 held the biggest number of Punks with 423 Punks and this number is double than the second wallet. This is because Yuga Labs, the owner of this wallet bought CryptoPunks project from Larva Labs.
• 0xb88f61e6fbda83fbfffabe364112137480398018 held the second biggest number of Punks with 218 Punks and this number is nearly the same as the third wallet 0xa25803ab86a327786bb59395fc0164d826b98298 with 215 Punks.
• Other wallets in top 10 held less than 200 Punks with the lowest balance is just 84 Punks
