Validator Pageant

Question 164: Select one validator outside the top 10 and make a case for why newcomers to Terra should delegate to that validator. Define any metric of your choosing that marks a good validator (airdrops, voting, community benefits, uptime); assess the average for the full set of ~130 validators (i.e. if you pick airdrops, assess how many of them offer an airdrop); and assess how your chosen validator performs based on that metric.

    Introduction:

In this article, we selected the SynergyNodes Glory validator to present it for newcomers to delegate it as their validator. SynergyNodes provides core infrastructure support for blockchains to secure the network by operating validator nodes. It should be noted that this validator is only operating on the Terra platform. In addition, voting power has been chosen as a metric to assess this validator. It is obvious that the voting power of a validator is the number of tokens that were delegated to it. However, if everyone delegates to a single validator, it will harmfully affect the decentralizing theory. That is, to have a more decentralized network and to benefit from its advantages, we propose newcomers choose those validators that have lower voting power.

In this figure, the daily average voting power for the mentioned validator and the whole validators can be found. As can be seen, the average value for this validator is below the average value for all of the validators. Hence, for the sake of decentralizing, it is suggested to use the mentioned validator.
