What is a Layer2

Layer 2 is a term used for solutions created to help scale an application by processing transactions off of the Ethereum Mainnet (layer 1) while still maintaining the same security measures and decentralization as the mainnet. Layer 2 solutions increase throughput (transaction speed) and reduce gas fees.

What are NFTs?

A non-fungible token is a unique digital identifier that cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided, that is recorded in a blockchain, and that is used to certify authenticity and ownership. 

Methodology

In this dashboard, we are looking to see the sales activity of Optimism NFTs by price point. The data for this dashboard will come from the optimism.core tables of Flipside’s database.

Observations

• Over 95% of all the NFT sales on Optimism sell for below 0.1 ETH
• least than 0.4% of NFTs sell for over 1 ETH on Optimism
• Although NFT with a price over 1 ETH make up a very small percentage of sales they make up about 30% of Volume on Optimism

• There has been a total of 57K wallets buying NFTs on Optimism
• In total there have been 3170 ETH of NFTs sold in 169K sales

Conclusion

1. Optimism NFT sales activity by price

   1. Over 95% of all the NFT sales on Optimism sell for below 0.1 ETH
