What is Uniswap?

Uniswap is a dex build on both the ethereum and polygon blockchain. The dex facilitates automated transactions between erc20 tokens using smatcontracts. UNI is the native token of the Uniswap dex and can be used to vote on Uniswap governance proposals.

Methodology

• we will look at Holders of Uni token and teir activity.

• we will look to see how much UNI these wallets hold and how decentralized tyo token is.

• we will only look at data from between Descember 26th and March 24th 2022.

Uniswap UNI token Metrics

The graph above shows the total number of active UNI tokens holders each day in 2021. Over the years the total number of wallets holding the tokens has gone from 299,000 to 312,000 in 2022. This is a less than 0.5% goin in holders in the past 3 months.

Conclusion

There has only been a small amount of wallets buying UNI for the first time in 2022 and many of the wallets that are holding a small amount of UNI have been inactive while many of the larger holders have been active in 2022. one factor that could explain the lack of activity of smallholders is the price performance of the UNI token in 2022 where the token has gone down almost 50% from the start of the year.

The two graphs above show the percentage of UNI holders by the number of tokens that these users hold. The two graphs show all and active Uni token holders. These graphs show that many of the users that are holding less than 200 UNI are not active and the addresses that have large positions in UNI.
