What Is Optimism (OP)?

Optimism (OP) is a layer-two blockchain on top of Ethereum. Optimism benefits from the security of the Ethereum mainnet and helps scale the Ethereum ecosystem by using optimistic rollups. That means transactions are trustlessly recorded on Optimism but ultimately secured on Ethereum.
Optimism is one of the biggest scaling solutions for Ethereum with over $300 million in TVL. It is home to 35 protocols, the biggest being Synthetix (SNX), a derivatives exchange, Uniswap (UNI), a DEX, and Velodrome (VELO), an AMM. Users can begin their journey on Optimism by adding the chain on their Metamask and bridging tokens like ETH to the L2.

How is user behavior different on Optimism compared to L1?
Specifically, create a comparison between swaps and transactions on ETH mainnet vs Optimism, looking for things like daily swap volume, daily active users, and average volume swapped (use a single DEX for your comparison, either Uniswap or Sushiswap). L2 is far cheaper, but by how much? What are the average fees for a swap on Optimism compared to ETH Mainnet?

Total number of transactions on Ethereum mainnet is much more than Optimism. Ethereum mainnet in same period has about 116M transaction but Optimism has only about 0.9M transaction in same time. In 20 Feb Ethereum nainnet had most amount of daily transaction with about 900K.
Total volume of Ethereum mainnet is much more than Optimism, Ethereum mainnet has about 445M ETH since 2022 but Optimism just has about 254K ETH in same period. Most amount of daily vol in Ethereum mainnet was on 12 May with about 11.7M ETH.
Ethereum mainnet Has about 26.6M wallets that still had a transaction since 2022 this number for Optimism just about 108K. Most number of active wallets was in 13 May with about 642K.
Total amount volume of Uniswap on Ethereum mainnet since 2022 is 3.9M ETH and amount of Volume of Uniswap On Optimism is 2468. Most amount of daily vol on Uniswap on Ethereum mainnet was on 8 May with about 1.76ETH.
Fee on Ethereum mainnet compare to Optimism has lot of different in same period. Users on Ethereum mainnet spent about 12.5M ETH as fee since 2022. This number in Optimism just about 23.5ETH. Actually fee on Ethereum mainnet was about 531914x than fee on Optimism.
