Polygon: Daily Transactions and Unique Addresses
Q1. Count and plot the number of daily transactions and unique addresses on Polygon, beginning July 1, 2022.
Polygon
Polygon, formerly known as MATIC network, is a layer-2 scaling solution created in 2019 to address several limitations in the Ethereum blockchain, such as transaction speed, throughput, and gas fees.
It was originally designed as a scaling solution, but it rapidly evolved into a multi-purpose ecosystem that’s been receiving a lot of attention. A layer-2 soluction is a blockchain that runs parallel to a mainnet, in Polygon’s case, Ethereum, but processes transactions outside of the mainnet, resulting in an increased throughput (transaction speed) and lower gas fees.
Approach and methodlogy
In this report we are going to have a look at daily transactions and unique addresses on Polygon. This report will have a look into:
-
Count and plot the number of daily transactions and unique addresses on Polygon, beginning July 1, 2022.
\
I wil use polygon.core.fact_transactions data base in order to get the metrics required.
Results
- This charts shows the daily and cumulative transaction volume and the daily and cumulative unique users on Polygon since 1st of July.
- The day with more transaction volume volume was July 5th with +2,8M transactions.
- From 1st of July until today more than 29M transaction were done in Polygon.
- From 1st of July until today more than 2,5M unique users have done a transaction Polygon.
