    Introduction

In the rapidly evolving world of decentralized finance (DeFi), it is essential to keep a close eye on the performance and efficiency of various protocols. Aave, a prominent DeFi platform, relies on its governance token to enable users to vote on critical decisions and proposals that shape the protocol's future. To help users and stakeholders better understand the costs associated with these voting processes, we have developed an analytics dashboard that focuses on gas usage on the Ethereum network. This dashboard provides an in-depth analysis of gas consumption by delegates voting in Aave as well as the average gas expenditure per vote. By leveraging this data, users can gain valuable insights into the efficiency, sustainability, and potential areas of improvement for Aave's governance model.

    Methodology

In this dashboard I am going to be focusing on three tables ethereum.aave.ez_votes, ethereum.aave.ez_proposals, and ethereum.core.fact_transactions. From the votes tables I will draw information about voting acitvity on the platform and by connecting the tx_hash's with the ethereum.core.fact_transactions table I will be able to determine the fees paid for these votes across a number of different metrics. I will also be looking at the ethereum.aave.ez_proposals table and joining it with the ethereum.core.fact_transactions table in order to see typical gas costs as well as total gas costs over time for proposals. I will also be looking at these metrics over a time frame of 90 days. Allow each of these metrics can be seen over a timeline of the users choosing by changing the parameters, I personally will be doing analysis on the results seen over the last 90 days.
