Stargate Whales and other fishes

1 billion Stargate tokens were minted at genesis and will be the entire finite supply of STG. In this dashboard, we will use the popular GlassNode's BTC wallet classification below, and extend it to classify STG holders.

From the above image, we can assume that this distribution is for a 10 Million token Asset, hence multiplying 100 to this classification scheme would give us a fairly similar strategy.

Using the multiple of 100, our classification will be

    • Whale - 100,000+
    • Dolphin - 10,000+
    • Fish - 1000+
    • Dust - <1000

We have ignored many other types to keep the classification simple.

The contract address where STG token is deployed is 0xAf5191B0De278C7286d6C7CC6ab6BB8A73bA2Cd6. Like any ERC20 token, when STG token is transferred from one Wallet to another, a Transfer event is emitted containing the source and destination wallet and the amount of STG transferred. This can be used to create a map of all inflows and outflows for a given address and the net-flow will be the current balance. Then we can use the above classification to classify the wallets.

Classifying so will give us a list of 5500 wallets that hold STG.

Plotting the number of users in each classification type,

    • Dust wallets with less than 1000 STG are the most common, making up upto 70%
    • Fish wallets come next, holding 1000 to 10,000 STG, make up over 20%
    • Dolphins are next, contribute around 8% of wallets
    • Whales being the apex, are low in number

Plotting the amount of STG held by each wallet type

    • Whales control 98% of the supply. However, these Whales wallets includes exchanges and STG contracts and multisigs
    • Only 2% is controlled by other users.
    • Dolphins control 70% of the rest 2%
