DEX Popularity: Tinyman, Algofi, Pactfi

Since the beginning of April, how has the growth of AlgoFi and Pact impacted swaps on Tinyman? Show us how the Algorand DEX ecosystem is changing as each DEX grows.

In this analysis, we examine the popularity of decentralized exchanges in Alogrand ecosystem. A total of 4 DEXes are registered in the flipside database.

    • tinyman
    • algofi
    • pactfi
    • wagmiswap

By examining the swap tables, we answer the following:

    1. Do we see a change in the number of wallets swapping on these DEXs?
    2. Do we see a change in the volume of ALGOs being swapped on Tinyman and the other DEXs?
    3. Are ALGO whales swapping on certain DEXs more than others?
    4. Have we seen has the recent price change in ALGO impact the number of swaps/wallets/volume on the DEXs? If so, how?

All analyzes provided are from '2022-04-01' onwards.

The charts below show the number of unique swappers from '2022-04-01' on a daily basis. The share of each DEX in the number of these swaps is also given in a separate table. As it is clear, we see many ups and downs in the chart. In the first days of the month, we see more wallets that have swap. In general, it can be said that the number of traders has decreased in the middle of the month compared to the first of May.

In the next diagram, it can be clearly seen that the number of wallets they have done in tinyman swap is much more than other DEXs every day.

We now turn to the volume of ALGOs exchanged with other tokens. In a chart, we show the total volume of ALGOs swapped, and in separate charts, the share of each DEX in the ALGO swap.

As you know, we have witnessed a lot of price changes in the last few days, and this has caused crypto activists to show different behaviors in these few days.

This has caused the volume of swapped ALGOs to jump a lot these days. As expected, the largest swap volume was performed in tinyman, but on May 11 and 12, the Algo swap in algofi also grew significantly. From about 1.6 million swaps on May 10 to 7.4 million on May 11 and about 7 million on May 12.

We will now exchange whales. The chart below shows the total number of AGLOs swapped by whales from May 1, and the next chart shows the total number of AGLOs swapped by whales by DEX. Our criterion for selecting whales is that their balance is more than 10K.

As we can see, in these few days of crypto market inflammation, whales have made a significant contribution to the volume of swapped ALGOs. Comparing the graph of the total volume of swapped ALGOs and the chart below, we see that on May 9, approximately 8.1 million ALGOs were swapped, of which about 4.1 million were related to whales. Or on May 10, there were approximately 6.8 million ALGO swaps, of which nearly 3.6 million were done by whales.

Looking at the chart of Total Whales Swaps on DEXs, we see that the whales have done the most ALGO swaps in Tinyman. This shows that Tinyman is much more popular for both ordinary wallets and whales. AlgoFi and PactFi are also in second and third place, respectively. The important point is that none of the whales did any swaps on WagmiSwap.

Finally, let's look at the number of new wallets from the beginning. We see that from the fourth to the eighth day, the number of new wallets is constantly increasing. But from the ninth day, with the start of the de-pegging the terra network stable coin(UST) and the sharp fall of Luna, we see that the number of new wallets has dropped dramatically.
