NFL ALL (THANKSGIVING) DAY
The NFL's annual Thanksgiving games recently drove record viewership in the U.S., with 42 million people tuning in to see the Giants take on the Cowboys. Did FLOW NFT project NFL ALL DAY see similar boosts in popularity?
Purpose of this dashboard
The purpose of this analysis is to compare the activity of this NFL collection during the last week of November (that is, from the date of Thanksgiving for 1 week) with other days of the last year. This comparison is done in different ways, which are given below the criteria that I have compared.
- Sales volume (daily)
- Total Sales Volume
- Daily Average Sales Price and 7-day moving average
- Total Unique Buyers
- Average Buyers/Day
Methodology
In order to make the analysis easy to understand and compare, this dashboard is divided into main sections and each section includes charts.
- In the first part, the overall information that has been displayed numerically since the beginning of the time when the data was available.
- The second part is related to the sales volume, which is displayed daily, cumulative average, total and overall average, and the division is done based on 3 different periods.
- The third part deals with the number of transactions, which includes 3 daily charts, average and total.
- The fourth section is related to the number of buyers, and the charts in this section are the same as the third section.
- The last part is the price part, in this part, there are 2 charts, one of which includes the average purchase price of NFTs every day, and the other includes the 7-day moving average price.
Average and total sale volume
The log chart on the left shows the average sale volume in USD in three different periods.
As we can see, before thanksgiving we had $92k in sales on average and this number dropped to $60k on thanksgiving week. After thanksgiving, still, the average sale volume continued to decrease and reached $41k.
The total sale volume in these three periods shows over $71M in the past year and before thanksgiving. We had a $424k total sales on thanksgiving week and $249k after that week.
Sale volume in thanksgiving week
- In the weeks leading to thanksgiving day, daily sale volume in USD dropped a little bit. During the past months, we had over $100k in sales.
- NFL games opening was in September and the sale volume surged then, but in other months like the amount is decreasing.
- The average amount of sale volume on thanksgiving days was $50k which is the least number since July.
- It doesn’t seem that flow NFT projects experience a similar boost in popularity during thanksgiving.
Cumulative average sale volume
-
Average sale volume shows a decreasing trend since March. While the average cumulative sale was $272k, during thanksgiving days it dropped to $68k.
-
After thanksgiving days the average slightly increased again but it is not comparable to the past months.

Sale transactions over time
Similar to sale volume, sale transactions over time is decreasing and while we had over 20k on September, this number dropped to 5000 in thanksgiving week and the week after.
The log chart on the left shows the average sale transactions and in total in three different periods.
Before Thanksgiving, we had over 1.9M txs in total which is predictable since the period is from February. The average number is 2400. In thanksgiving week, the total sale was $27k and the average is 3900 which is the highest among all periods.
It seems while the total sale and cumulative amount decreased in thanksgiving week, the average transaction was the highest.
Unique buyers over time
-
Unique buyers increased on September but dropped on other days. In thanksgiving week, we had fluctuations in the number of buyers. First, it rose on November 23 and got a negative slope on other days of the week.
-
The total number of buyers before thanksgiving was 46k and on thanksgiving days we had 4200 buyers.
-
The average number of unique buyers per day before thanksgiving was 60 while it reached 611 on thanksgiving week.
-
This shows that the popularity of NFL all day increased in that week and more unique users tend to buy NFTs.
Sale price in USD over time
- The sale price during thanksgiving dropped compared to other days. In the past months, the average sale price was $30 while on thanksgiving days the average was $15.
- This means while the number of buyers increased in that week, the price decreased. This can be one of the reasons the sale volume was lower during Thanksgiving week and the transaction count and buyers increased.
Conclusion
- The average amount of sale volume on thanksgiving days was $50k which is the least number since July.
- In thanksgiving week, the total sale was $27k and the average is 3900 which is the highest among all periods.
- the popularity of NFL all day increased in thanksgiving week and more unique users tend to buy NFTs.
- The sale price during thanksgiving dropped compared to other days
