Bridger Destinations

    Optimism Bridge

the Ethereum layer 2 chains are a solution for Mainnet scalability. bridging assets from Mainnet to Optimism provides lower transaction fees, higher throughput, and a better user experience. there are different Bridges for Optimism and in this dashboard, we will look at the native and standard Bridge.

    Scopes

    1. Volume, Wallets Bridged Assets from Mainnet to Optimism and vis versa

    2. Cumulative and Monthly Changes in Bridge Volume

    3. Top Platforms users interacted with right after the Bridge from Mainnet to Optimism

    August Volume Spike?

Aave one of the biggest Defi protocols announced a Liquidity Mining Program for Optimism's OP Token.

Aave Twitter on August 4th, 2022:

    > The @OptimismFND Liquidity Mining program is live on Aave V3 The program will run for 90 days with a distribution of 5M OP to the Aave Protocol’s Optimism Market users Claiming support for rewards will be active soon!

    🟠 Observations

    • The USD total Volume of Bridges from Ethereum To Optimism is much higher than Optimism to Mainnet
    • The ETH with 172K has the highest number of unique wallets that bridged from Mainnet To Optimism, the next asset is USDC with 7.89K which is much lower than ETH
    • also, the number of bridge transactions for ETH with 199K is much higher than the others
    • USDC with $778M is the top Asset user Bridged to Optimism in terms of USD volume, the second one is ETH with $706M
    • for bridges from Optimism to Mainnet again the USDC has the highest USD volume with $367M, this number for ETH is $204M
    • we can say that most wallets bridged ETH to Optimism, but the Total Volume for USDC is higher than ETH

    💡 Conclusion

    • The USD total Volume of Bridges from Ethereum To Optimism is much higher than Optimism to Mainnet

    • The ETH with 172K has the highest number of unique wallets that bridged from Mainnet To Optimism, the next asset is USDC with 7.89K which is much lower than ETH

    • USDC with $778M is the top Asset user Bridged to Optimism in terms of USD volume, the second one is ETH with $706M

    • most wallets bridged ETH to Optimism, but the Total Volume for USDC is higher than ETH

    • the main assets for Bridge to Optimism and Ethereum are USDC and ETH

    • Hop protocol which is one of the most popular bridges has the share with 55K interaction

    • synthetic, Layer2DAO, and Uniswap are the next popular first destinations

    Method

    • I found the asset contracts and addresses on this GitHub page: Link
    • from Mainnet to optimism address: 0x99c9fc46f92e8a1c0dec1b1747d010903e884be1
    • from optimism to Mainnet address: 0x25ace71c97b33cc4729cf772ae268934f7ab5fa1
    • the bridge transactions are extracted by using token and eth transfer tables.

    🟠 Observations

    • these cumulative charts show how the Volume changed over time
    • USDC and ETH have the biggest growth
    • in April 2022, the USDC volume spiked and started to increase heavily, and could go above the ETH in July 2022
    • so the main assets for Bridge to Optimism and Ethereum are USDC and ETH

    ✨ Top Platforms

    • these are the top 10 protocols that users interacted with as the first transaction after the bridge from Mainnet to Optimism
    • Hop protocol which is one of the most popular bridges has the share with 55K interaction
    • Optimism, synthetic, Layer2DAO, and Uniswap are the next popular first destinations
    • Optimism: most of the volume for this optimism in the chart is belong to the OP token, and also the Airdrop Contract
